According to the 1UP rumor mill, the 60GB HDD bundle was recently revealed to attendees of the GameStop Expo in Las Vegas (employees only, please). The bundle is said to include the 60GB HDD, a 3 month subscription to Xbox Live and an ethernet cable all for $99. Not horribly bad. But what also caught our eye is the other GameStop Expo rumor regarding a new 12 month Xbox Live bundle. The new bundle is pegged to include a year of Xbox Live, a copy of PGR4 and a 360 Messenger Kit for $69. Again, this is all gossipy rumor stuff, so don't get overly excited just yet.

This would be a great idea to have available so late 'next-gen' adapters who are not even sure they want online can save money with the Arcade, knowing that if they later decide they want an expanded online experience, they can upgrade later w/o paying a lot more.
I know a few people personally who want a 360 or a PS3 "just so they can play Madden in HD"

The question I have is whether it will come with a transfer cable

While Microsoft may think ALL these hard drives were going to Arcade purchasers who dodn't have anything to transfer, I'd say it's dumb to not include a transfer cable on every >20GB drive they sell. The huge margin on these proprietary drives should keep Microsoft afloat anyway.
I've dipped below 10GB remaining and will need a larger drive. They shouldn't make me think about filling up a PS3 instead...

This is definitely better than the 20GB for $99 offering. I'm have been very tempted to upgrade my hard drive, but don't know if I need 120 gigs (I don't buy movies or shows).
If you think about it, a 60GB drive gives you 52GB of available space vs a 20GB drive with 12GB of available space. That's 4.5 times the storage and should be more than enough for what's to come.

All I download is the occasional update and demos. The only things on my HD that take up any space are KotN and Shivering Isles for Oblivion, and the three Arcade games I have.

I second that. Even if you don't have one just sell the xbox branded cable next to the bundles.

Agreed. For example, I bought a Pro back when it didn't have hdmi and only came with a 20 gb hd. Now that I just got the RROD I'm hoping to get back an hdmi machine. Thus I only want an increase in gb's and don't feel like shelling out an extra $50 for the 120 (which I was hoping they would knock down to $100).

Ethernet cable included???! Sign me up! The one that came with my xbox broke and I haven't been able to find an "official" xbox 360 ethernet cable yet! Thanks microsoft.
*end sarcasm*
Microsoft is just trying to make their over priced HDs look like a good deal by throwing in 3 months xbox live (free to them) and a cable (price negligible). Stupid as hell. Subtract the price of 3 months xbox live and a cable and you still are buying a 60 gb HD for 80 bucks... it's ridiculous.

if M$ wants me to buy more DLC and Live games, they need to make the 60gb HD very affordable!

Trade the ethernet cable for a transfer cable and you've got a purchase from me. I don't want to wait for the free one from MS's website.

I just ordered the transfer kit by fax and I received the cable in less than a week. Pretty fast turn around.

I don't get MS's need to hold on to the price points of $99.
I almost think it's so that they can sell the Memory unit at $49.
I do want more storage... decisions... decisions.

This cant be true. It would nullify the pro model. Why buy an xbox with 60gb hdd for $299 when you can buy an arcade for $199 + $99 60GB bundle. By going the arcade route, you snag yourself a free memoery card + 3 free months of XBL, which you would not recieve by just buying the pro.
