In rumor news that could probably be filed under the sub-category "too good to be true", word on the street is that Microsoft is planning a huge New Xbox Experience blowout later this month. A five hour long G4TV "console re-launching" event that's said to be full of new Xbox 360 game announcements.
According to forum poster Dodece over on VG Chartz.com, Microsoft will hold their five hour long New Xbox Experience re-launching event on September 25th beginning at 7:00PM eastern and unleash an all out media blitz. Rumored to be announced during the event is news regarding free Halo 3 DLC, new Mass Effect DLC, the first of two chunks of GTAIV DLC and info regarding Portal. Also, during the event, six Xbox Originals will be released for free. There is also mention that MS will announce a Sirius Satellite Radio partnership, a new music download service and something called "Mad Lib" of which isn't explained. As if that wasn't enough, Microsoft will be announcing twelve new game titles exclusive to the 360, all of which are codenamed, but the rumor source confirms Assassins Creed 2, Mass Effect 2, a new Conker title, a new Rare shooter and two new Halo games are in the mix. Phew!
Sound too good to be true? Yeah, sounds that way to us as well. Then again, if Microsoft wanted to march into the holidays with their guns a blazing, holding a five hour long 360 media frenzy would generate a bunch of buzz. Try not to get your hopes up though.

I seriously doubt it, but if it is true, this would be HUGE in terms of exposure for the 360

if anyone read the article, it says the 6 xbox originals are free for "long standing members". wtf does that mean? does it mean only for people who have had the account for 5 years or sumthing?

I hope it means people that got the 360 at/around launch and registered them.
But that is just wishful thinking if it even turned out to be try.

I suggest not checking every 30 minutes. I check it every few hours and there is always something new up... ALWAYS.
Get a job (if you got one: work more, surf less) or play more games or... whatever.
Also, add Kotaku, Joystiq, 1up, etc. and if you can keep up with all THAT news, than you REALLY need to rethink a lot of things...

After experiencing a delayed wake-up (damn alarm clock!) and a slow news day we're churning out as much 360 news as possible. There's also Fancast goodness coming later today, so keep refreshing every five minutes or so ... minimum. Maybe every 30 seconds, if possible.

Why check back every hour when you have RSS readers.

I just check the RSS instead of the site itself, find it easier.

checking an rss is exactly the same as checking the site, the only difference is you need to refresh the page to check the site, but you could always have one of the millions of browsers out there that auto refreshs web pages every 5 mins etc.
I do use the RSS reader, but thats only because you can get RSS feeds in outlook, and since im at work, I can read right from outlook, which is where im suppose to be, waiting for new problems (im support). So if anyone glances at my screen from afar, It looks like im always working, when im infact reading up ont he lattest xbox rumour :p.
Now is there a way to not recieve the pictures with the rss feeds over outlook? Cause I always quickly scroll down so the picture goes offscreen when viewing

Should've clarified, I used Google Reader and have all those I've listed in it. That's what I mean by there's no way to keep up with the news.
Everything in my list is higher than 199... Kotaku is 1000+ as it is, and even if I reset it, it jumps up that high in less than 2 weeks!

Funny thing is it doesn't surprise me. Isn't this around the time for the Tokyo Game Show? Also, MS hasn't made any new announcements yet this year, so it could easily happen.

That's the bit where the sceptic in me said "hmm, this is clearly bullshit and this is the part that makes that much obvious" but of course the fanboy in me said "six free xb1 games?! I wonder what they'll be!!!"
