Wow. I'm a PS Fanboy. But I must say this is a good deal...it's odd that i just read this article yesterday. So conflicted!

Well, like Sony hasn't had their share of hardware issues. PS 1 and 2 both had heatdeath problems.

Pfft...I'm on my 3rd PS3 and I bought it in April this year. The first one lasted 3 hours! Try googling "PS3 bluetooth controller issue" and see how many people have this hardware failure that Sony doesn't talk about. The longest I can play is 10 minutes before my PS3 "forgets" how to deal with bluetooth, and I have to do a hard reboot by throwing the switch on the back. This next replacement better work or some dumb sap on ebay is getting it! Luckily I'm within the scant 1 year warranty.
For the record, I've had one 360 fail in over 2 years. It wasn't RROD and it still got repaired for free!

If you buy an elite, does it come with the cable to transfer hard drives? If not, how would one recommend transferring my data?
Ideally, I'd like to do this deal then trade in my pro system to gamestop or somewhere for store credit.

It does not include a data migration transfer kit. BUT, you can get it free from xbox.com's website once you have your new console's serial number. I just got my kit and it took 14 days for the entire process, not too bad.

The Elite doesn't come with a transfer cable, but you can get one for free from Xbox.com. You have to get the PDF at the bottom of the page and print it out.

So you get a free game with your new Elite - if I didn't already have a 360 I would definitely be taking advantage of this :D

Bought my first one yesterday, a 60gig and I can barely hear it. Definitely can't hear it when there's any sound coming out of the TV.

I couldn't hear my 11/06 Xenon Premium 360, and my replacement (had a weird thing where it RRoD'd once, and then it worked, but locked up thirty seconds after boot up. MS replaced it for free, I LOVE Microsoft) is even quieter.
