Has anyone asked Valve if they are going to shun this title (updates -wise) like they shunned the console versions of tf2?

The guy is not a "retard." Grow up.
TF2/Orange Box came out 10 months ago... the DLC you sassily posted about isn't even out yet... not until the end of this year... one year later.
I'd say shunning the 360 is accurate. Please refrain from name-calling.
As for Left 4 Dead, it doesn't feel up to Valve's standards... "Reloading!" stuff like that feels cheesy... Valve has great taste... was this game subcontracted out and Valve put its name on it?

Fair enough maybe retard was too strong.
If you took the time to read the source of that update info (Kotaku) you would have found the following reason why it took so long for them to bring the updates to the 360.
"Valve marketing director Doug Lombardi got that piece of business out of the way just before our latest Left 4 Dead demo, saying that the developer wanted to build up a massive update for Xbox 360 users before delivering. Given that Valve is being forced to charge for the update, they wanted to ensure that 360 owners were getting their money's worth."
So honestly, people dissing Valve pisses me off. Best and most honest developer out there.

Yes, I agree... Valve is my favorite.
Their standards are so high, they themselves have to know they haven't figured out the 360 update thing yet. If they could put out add'l content at even half the rate of the PC side, they would be doing great for 360... and elevate their status on the console (some people don't know Valve... and Orange Box, surprisingly.)
As I type this, my visiting family is pushing through on Portal... I'm in here because they're way beyond where I am in the game and I don't want to see any ahead of time. ;)

Doug, did you read what I said? Valve didn't release the updates at the same rate as the PC because they are being forced to charge for it, so they wanted to release it in one big pack so 360 users get the most from it, it's nothing to do with "they themselves have to know they haven't figured out the 360 update thing yet."
Valve aren't stupid, of course they know how to release updates for the 360.

I read what you said. I read the article.
Valve didn't get where they are by letting the circumstances of business force them to put their games or their fans second. Valve has not "figured out" how to make the 360 thing work. I stand by that statement.
Bungie, on the other hand, has figured out how to work with Microsoft to get their fans what they need in a timely manner. Cold Storage was a map given away free, I have to believe, because Bungie and Microsoft have a working relationship.
Gabe Newell is a smart guy and I don't believe "Microsoft made us do x or y" is an excuse he is really standing behind. Orange Box is Valve's first 360 game, if I'm not mistaken. If they want to be up there with Infinity Ward and Bungie on consoles (they are already above them on PC) then they need to do a better job and stop making excuses.
M$ is a problem, but you can't let them stop you from getting updates out before 12 months. Business success is not built on accepting your limitations, and I don't think Valve will recreate this 12 month cycle on new games. They're too smart.

Luke, if you haven't noticed, there's flying sentries on every stage of Dustbowl. If they can't patch that huge glitch and others, why should we believe they'd ever release humongous batch of updates? Dare I evoke the PS3's version?

graphically, it does look a little dated (but thats not the 360's fault, it looks the same on the PC)

That's because it is using the Source engine, just like every other Valve game since CS:S and HL2.

Yeah, and that's what allows the game to run on ancient Pentium 4 systems and AGP graphics cards - according to the Valve hardware survey, that kind of spec is actually what the majority of users are running rather than dual 4870 X2's.
I would've thought that people would shut up about graphics (instead of gameplay) after Crysis.
