A Microsoft produced flyer is making the internet rounds that was supposedly sent to Xbox Live Gold members in Germany. The flyer informs us of a new Xbox 360 Live 60GB HDD Starter Pack will release in November and will include the hard drive itself, a wired headset and three months of Xbox Live all for 79 Euros. Not too bad, seeing that a standalone 120GB HDD costs a whopping 129 Euros already. We aren't certain if this is an European exclusive offer or if it'll be sold in North America as well, but we'd totally welcome a cheaper 60GB HDD bundle. With open arms.
[Thanks, Sjeltur]

Good deal, minus the crappy headset!
But if your really looking for a killer headset, grab the Turtle Beach Ear Force X4! Wireless and Dolby Digital Surround Sound. I just bought them and cant say enough. Lil pricey at $200 but trust me its worth every penny!

Actually, I received the X2's for Christmas, and they have some downfalls as well as positives.
First of all, the X2's are (Not sure about X4's) genuinely bad for chatting over xbox live. You can barely hear your teammates over the consistent gunfire, or whatever else is noisy in the game. This is because the game sound is coming directly from the same place as players chatting. It doesn't automatically tone down game sound when people chat to make it easier to hear, like some pc games with built-in voice chat do.
Also, i sent myself a couple tests of how the outgoing mic sounded in voice messages.
Less than impressive compared to the standard Microsoft headset, and my friends commented on that as well.
I mostly enjoyed it for solo gaming. But when you have xbox live gold, there isn't as much solo gaming to be had anymore.
Really, it's a matter of position.
I got mine so I could play at 2 am without causing disturbances, but the voice chat problem killed it for me. The X2's now sit in my closet collecting dust.

The X4 looks great, but at $200 I would expect it to have RF and not IR xmit. Can't walk from in front of the base and still get signal.

I could use a headset...my puppies have chewed up 2 of 3 of my headsets. Those two happened to be the old ones with the good connection. The one I have left is one of the newer ones that is kinda shitty...

yeah seriously? I got a wireless headset a lonng time ago - got like 5 of these just sitting in my basement. Plus with a good game-buying habit and a little bit of luck in stuff like the GTA4 Sweepstakes XBL has pretty much become free for me.
Pass...

I'm hoping they sell the standalone 60GB for the same, if not cheaper price than the 20GB. But then again, this is Microsoft we're talking about.
I so need a new hard drive since mine bit the dust, but don't want to pay for the 120GB.

I'm sorry but sensible pricing on accessories from Microsoft? Isn't that impossible? (Apart from the Xbox LIVE Gold Pack - 13 months, headset, live vision camera and uno for £50)
