It's
Madden time kids. Specifically, it's
Madden 09 time. With good old Brett Favre emblazoned on the cover (
wearing his Packers uniform or his fancy new Jets uniform), we're sure copies will be flying off shelves and into man-filled living rooms everywhere. We're also fairly certain that the percentage of "sick days" will be pretty high this week. Get out the snacks, the (root)beer and the turduckens. It's game time.
If the foosball isn't your thing, take comfort in the fact that we're also getting
Bionic Commando Rearmed on
XBLA this week.

I might pick up Bionic Commando: Rearmed though with Castle Crashers and Pirates vs. Ninja Dodgeball out within the next few weeks, it seems likely.

I have not bought a Madden game in four years. I am going to pick this one up tomorrow though. The graphix sold me...the camera is a little twitchy in the demo though.

I know I'm going to get murdered saying this but, I get no enjoyment out of playing madden games, I mean I don't see why people get so hyped up for a game that's been exactly the same for a long time (except for roster updates and some stupid features) I'm not saying it's a bad game, I just wish I understood :(

You could really say the same thing about the game of football (or any sport, or any sports game for that matter) in general. Different strokes for different folks.
Plus "roster updates and some stupid features" may seem like little to you, but for the madden fan they're as exciting as a couple of new weapons and stupid features are to FPS fans when their yearly dose comes out (CoD franchise). I'm not trying to say you're an FPS fan or diss either FPS or Sports game genres... just trying to point out that like it or not, repetition like this is the backbone of the game industry.

yes I know the madden fans enjoy the roster changes and stuff I guess I kinda understand...I'm more or less that guy that wants a game to not just add a few meaningless updates but to change the genre or change the gameplay, though with some games that's not always the best idea

there's not much you can do to make sports games new these days... roster updates and tweaks to the gameplay are about it.

they could have a radio active football that turned the players into mutants OR everyone gas jetpacks and you can flyyyyy yay...then again it wouldn't be madden Lol

Why in god's name would ANYONE BUY THIS GAME. It's the SAME GAME as NCAA 09 - which is EA Sport's WORST piece of shit, EVER. That happens to be hillarious because last year's NCAA/Madden (same game retards) were also terrible; yet somehow... 09 seems to raise the bar in patheticness. It's a buggy piece of trash. Skip it until they get off their asses and FIX THE GAMES. Jesus Christ fokes so they added a slightly better lighting modem and afew new textures. GET OVER IT you freakin 13 year old-dont-know-any-better fanboys.
Every year this series get's worse because you crap-heads keep accepting it. It wont get any better until you STOP BUYING IT.

Biased against EA much? Honestly, by looking at your previous comments, seems to be like you got raped up the ass by an EA employee or something. Better yet, by Brett Favre himself. Now gtfo and stfu about your crusade against EA and their games...

In other news, Super Mario Galaxy is, IN EVERY WAY, exactly like Super Mario Bros, and Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 are carbon copies of their originals.
The problem is, Madden is based on a sport that doesn't change - other than ROSTERS - year in and year out. The Madden games, however, are drastically different, from the way the game is played, to presentation and graphics, to features. Each and every year adds something and many take away something in the attempt to provide the best sports simulation game out there.
Anybody that has really played the games knows that the only thing Madden 06 and 08 have in common is the sport of football.

Great, Madden 2009. Just another year without a legitimate football game on the consoles.
