Just so you are aware, Xbox Live Arcade game
Braid just released to the XBLA today. And for 1200 Microsoft points, no more, and definitely no less. Featuring a distinct paint-like art style, challenging platformer puzzles, the ability to control time (
Blinx style!) and a non-linear storyline,
Braid may just be worth the 1200 points and a place in your XBLA library. But you'll never know unless you give it a try. Download the trial, see if
Braid floats your metaphorical boat and be open minded. At the very least, you should enjoy bending time.

It's Super Mario Bros, stupid. And much better than Super Mario Bros, I might add.

I like the look of it from the screenshots. I'll give the demo a run after work.

Haha, the "I'm sorry but the princess is in another castle" screenshot made me laugh.
Also their phrasing in some screens is funny. "Maybe you will solve all the puzzles! That would be great."
Reminds me of the original FF Tactics... I got a good feeling! This is the way!
Anyway, I'm actually tempted to try it now.

Yeah, the gameplay is rather stale.
Bionic Commando next week though, then Galaga and CASTLE CRASHERS!!

I thought it was slow at first, but after you figure out what to do, it was fun. I got all but three puzzle pieces in the demo, with a good idea how to get them, but bouncing off of 2 heads didn't get me high enough to get on the ledge to get the other part of the platform puzzle piece.

Stale? Stale?!
How much did you play?

Apparently, he only played level 2 and didn't see the other gameplay variations. Level 5 is a kick the nuts trying to get those puzzle pieces.

If you are interested in time bending abilities, you can get Timeshift for the same price! Not to mention 1000 gamerscore! w00t for ch33v0z!

It feels very emo. I love the presentation and can appreciate how unique it's trying to be, but the gameplay feels like it would get old. It just doesn't seem to warrant the higher price. I'd rather play GW2 for less.

The game includes different elements. X turns back time in one level, does something completely different in another.

wow, a pretty version of Donkey Kong. Does it justify the 1200 point price tag?

There's one level in the entire game he took inspiration from Donkey Kong for. It's a homage. It's not what the game is.
That's it lol.

I'll try it but the art style irritates me already.

Eh, Tried the demo...it was alright. Nowhere near 1200 pts worth though. I'll save for the (possibly) more expensive Castle Crashers.

It's not a "pretty version of Donkey Kong". It's an adult, Vincent van Gogh-does-Super Mario Bros, and I'm already in love with the game.
Plunking down the $15 now.

Oh boy. Seems like if you're under the age of 25, you're not going to fully appreciate this game.
