In an interview with MTV Multiplayer blog Microsoft's head of Xbox Don Mattrick confirmed that Bungie is working on a new Halo title. Mattrick told MTV that Bungie's next title wasn't revealed because Microsoft felt they had enough content and excitement surrounding its other announcements (Sup, Final Fantasy XIII).
When pressed on the lack of Halo news, specifically regarding Ensemble Studio's real-time title, Halo Wars, Matrrick told MTV not to worry and announcements would be coming and then let it slip that Bungie is working on a Halo title.
Matrrick then clarified that the Bungie project is not related to Halo Wars or the the long-announced Peter Jackson project, codenamed Halo: Chronicles.
Was this the 10:07 AM PT announcement, the rumored Halo-based tactical shooter or were they the same?
[Thanks, Dan Dizzle]

"Was this the 10:07 AM PT announcement"
I doubt it. The last Halo game just came out less then a year ago. They were probably going to announce that other game they are cooking up.
Anyways, whats with MS? Have they all suddenly lost their ability to do their job?
I mean they announce a 3rd party multiplat game during the conference. Don will basically announce a 2009 game during E3 to a reporter. But they won't announce Bungies next game, while tens (if not hundreds) of thousands watch. Because they want to focus on this years games. That strategy last year, lost them 08.
Seriously. Tell me what exclusives your looking forward to next year.
Halo Wars. A niche game, that doesn't appeal to many other then people that already own 360s.
Pjs game- No trailer, no title. The game just began development earlier this year. Probably not coming untill 010.
Alan Awake-- No information in ages. No gameplay footage. Still no idea what this game is about.
Thats 09s 360 lineup as we know it now.
Going up against KZ2, MAG, God of War 3, the agency, DC online, and probably a bunch of other games I don't know about. Because im a Xbox fanboy.
Clearly, 360 sales are going to suffer late this year, and early next year just because the 360s 09 lineup looks terrible from an outsider standpoint. I think Microsoft really has a public perception problem.
Prep your selves fanboys, because we are going to have another year where everyone says the 360s lineup sucks.
Seriously, get back in the game. The 3 big conferences are broadcasted live to tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of core gamers via the internet and television.
Your soft ware tie-in is droping. Monthly sales are dropping.
Analysts and retailers keep claiming the 360 has lost value in the eyes of the consumer. They keep claiming the ps3 will either take second or first place.
It was your job to prove them wrong this conference. You didn't. And now your going to be heading into 09 with a disavantage from the get go. Just because you didn't announce any of the games, that you could of and obviously should of announced.
Hint: Casual gamers play under 3 hours a week. They aren't watching an hour and a half gaming conference. Don't make any lengthy attempts to win the casual over during your conference. Because it will have no positive effect. You win them over by advertising, nice box art and word of mouth. Not the same kind of hype driven targeting that works for the Hardcore gamers.

Why do people who say stuff that will ignite a flame war think that saying they own an Xbox/PS3/Wii is enough to stop everyone else from calling them out on their bullshit.
Troll elsewhere. We're all level 50's here.

Yeah the 360 is doomed. How convenient of you to leave, literally, a ton of things out that the 360 is getting. Unless you really aren't excited about anything that was revealed, and if that's the case, then gaming probably isn't your hobby. That or you're the pickiest gamer in the world.

Don't Forget Wipeout HD,Resistance 2, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Gran Turismo 5, Little Big Planet and Home. Not to mention the exclusive Bioshock content and exclusive game mode in EA's Fifa Football 09 ( thats soccer in US).

Here's something to consider. Go back and watch very first Halo Wars trailer, I think from 2006. It doesn't show game play, just a cut scene. At one point, with the ODST losing badly, a Spartan sticks his head up and says something like "Spartan Blue Squadron." I'm not at my console, but he specifically says "Spartan Blue" The new Halo game mentioned at WalMart? Halo Blue. Maybe a 4 or 5 Spartan team tactical shooter? Just saying... Granted, the original trailer still said Ensemble games, but Bungie had the master chief in Dead or Alive...
Go back and watch the trailer.

at risk of sounding extra nerdy, that was not the master chief in DOA4. It was some other spartan named Nicole, they made the connection by some space rift.
