I downloaded the one weeks ago with the japanese silver account i made. I ended up only playing 2 minutes and shutting it off. The demo itself was kinda crappy to me because it puts you in the middle of the game, you have no clue how to paly, and no clue whats going on. At least with the eternal sonata demo it was basically the first area of the game, right from the start.... much better.
Anyway I stopped playing because I know im gonna buy it, because I like the tales games. So I figured why spoil it and get myself confused on how to play.
I think developers need to realize that even if you have a good game, you cant just release a portion of it and call it a demo. Theres a proper way to makea demo, and this just aint one of them. Theres many arcade games that have this problem. Demos should go out of their way to teach you the game with tutorials, and make things simple, while at the same time, giving you constant access to controls and information. Chunks of gameplay are not exactly the best bet when trying to sell a game to people who have no idea what it is.
