Well, I guess it could be a neat thing to hand. Can't really be used as a weapon, right? The thing has to be heavy and when you're holding that I'd imagine all the weight would be shifted weirdly.
If it were really light, I'd guess you could hold it right and swing it.

It looks fragile; I would have it as exhibition but as a real weapon? To be honest some weapon replicas look more resistant.

If it doesn't have an adequate amount of foam on it, you can't use it. The staff of the LARP company wouldn't allow this at all.
Just speaking as someone who has friends who did this many times in the past.
