We know there is a certain section of the readership that hates our guts for posting rumors, but frankly, we really don't much care. We do our best to show exactly where rumors come from, and always leave it to you to make the decision about their truthfulness for yourselves. This next one came from the same survey page that the "
Xbox Avatar" rumor came from, and has all sorts of goodies in it.
The page states that
Forza 3 will ship on two discs, have some sort of "assist system", will be loaded to the brim with content (400 cars, 100 tracks, etc) and will have car deformation. Really though, the biggest news here is the possible hint (if the survey page is to be believed) that the game was constrained by the limitations of the DVD format ...

I'm hoping that they provide you with an option to install some of the game to the hard drive and avoid the disc shuffle. Almost every PS3 game does some type of HD install for performance reasons. I wouldn't see a problem with games on the 360 doing an HD install to get around DVD9 limitations.
Maybe that's why we've got 60GB SKU forthcoming?

With Blu-Ray on the PS3, you get mandatory installs. While the disc itself holds tons of information, the data can't be accessed very quickly. Hence, some of the game must be installed on the hard drive.
There's a clear trade-off. I'm not sure if one is clearly superior, but the depth of MGS4 shows the potential of the console and it's new fangled media.

lol, I'm not sure 100 tracks could fit on a BR
That's a lot of tracks.....
Eitherway, just a rumor. But honestly, I'd accept 2 disks for 100 tracks. not sure how they'd separate it though...

2 DVD9's [~18GB] are smaller in size than a single-layer blu-ray disc [~25GB].. so yes, 100 tracks can easily fit on a blu-ray

I understand basic math....
I was saying that I didn't think taht 100 tracks could fit on 2 DVDs (18gb) OR a BR (25gb)
I was thinking it would be way larger than that..
