As part of their gaming "Deal of the Day", today and today only Amazon.com has discounted the 360's (already overpriced) 20GB hard drive to $65 and the 120GB hard drive to $135. As always, Amazon doesn't charge shipping on orders over $25 and (for most buyers) is also tax free. So, if you're in the market for a new 360 hard drive, today just might be the day for you to jump in and ease the purchasing pain by saving yourself 25% off of retail. Every penny counts.
[Thanks, Ben]

That's still ridiculously expensive. And sadly, though I do get free shipping, I do get tax :-/ Ahh well, the free shipping on orders over 25 does rock face!

amazon.co.uk has an offer on 360 HDDs.
£20 off 120GB
and £5 off 20GB.
see, the UK gets sweet deals too, hahaha.....not.
on an upside though, most places are selling rock band for £150-£160. Nearly as cheap as the US price now lol.

To bad it's not like the ps3 where you can use your own hdd.
I ended up just selling my 20gig hdd and buying an elite.
Looks like I might sell my elite and buy a blu-ray equipped xbox too and if it's a 20gig, then well I guess I have to buy a overpriced hdd made for the xbox

yep, still really over priced. Just find a broken unit on eBay (for the case), slot in your own specific hard drive (don't remember the model), load up the custom MS firmware and boom 120 GB hard drive for like $60 or something.

$135 is still more than I will pay. I've upgraded my PS3 with a 250GB drive for half that amount. I'll stick with a 20GB drive for my launch 360 till the price drops to a reasonable figure.

Actually you are required on your return in all US states to volunteer information on online purchases for tax collection, Mr. Burg.

The 120GB still costs €150 here in Belgium. That's around 235$.
I want a discount too :(

Yup, its the equivalent of $220USD in the UK still. Bad, bad price. I'd just get an elite and sell the pro 360.

As of June, NYers started getting taxed by Amazon. Blah. Glad I bought my major home theater purchases in late May.

Nerd!
I'm not going to go out of my way to document shit the government is perfectly capable of handling on their own.
