Video: GHIII 100% perfect Dragonforce's 'TTFAF'
Here it is! It really happened! One accomplishment that we never thought we'd see get accomplished has been, well ... accomplished. Guitar Hero III's overly long "Through the Fire and Flames" track by Dragonforce has recently been played 100% perfect on expert difficulty with video proof to boot. Youtube account holder iamchris4life uploaded his nearly cyborg-like GHIII strumming performance and, what more can be said? It's "Through the Fire and Flames" played perfectly on expert. Just watch and be amazed.
Also, towards the end of this eight minute video there is some NSFW celebratory "holy sh*t" remarks and f-bombs, but really, can you blame him? Celebrate however you want iamchris4life, you crazy good GHIII expert you.

I dunno, I've never played the song on GH, but from what I can hear of the VERY quiet track in the background, it sounds like it's normal speed.

It is normal speed... The only thing that is different is that the notes are spaced farther apart and fly at you faster. The song is still normal speed, and the notes still line up perfectly with the song.
I like Hyperspeed on some songs, it helps me count the amount of notes in close clusters of notes that are in long strings. Only disadvantage is that the notes have to register in your mind faster than on normal speed, and you see less notes on screen at one time.

While hyperspeed is technically a "cheat" because you have to go to the cheat section and enter in a series of buttons to get it to unlock, it has been accepted by Score Hero as a perfectly acceptable way to play.

does anybody find it odd that he does not have to tilt the guitar to go into starpower? I usually have to tip the thing about at least 45 degrees to hit it. I don't know. Odd.

Nope, he's probably using the select button. Some guitars sensors go bad or it doesn't go off when they want it to so they use the select button.

how much dedication and sacrifice could this accomplishment have required? I get enough flak for how much I play rockband and I've barely mastered half the songs, and only on Hard difficulty.

Hyperspeed speeds up the notes. I would think that would kinda be the opposite of a cheat.

I think if you hit the select button it will activate starpower.

I was wondering - how do you activate star power without lifting the guitar?
Plus, at the beginning, was he strumming anything? He used TWO hands to play the opening notes.
Fishy.

Pretty sure you can play very long passages if the notes are close enough together as hammer-ons and pull-offs. You have to have pretty awesome timing, however.

He used his elbow to strum.

And if you miss, you can apparently use your elbow to strum, but he didn't miss...And the timing for hammer-ons and pull-offs in GHIII is super lenient compared to RB and GHII.
