With Microsoft's Gamers' Day going on tomorrow, and some of
their thunder already stolen, it's good to see that there is still much left to be seen. These
new screens are accompanied by some new info as well, though the few new details will likely pale in comparison to tomorrow's news. For now the news is that the game is about 20-30 times larger than the first, it has dynamic weather and seasons, and it won't be the last Fable game. In fact, Lionhead apparently has three more titles left for future release. Whether or not the
Fable 2 Arcade games are included in that count was not mentioned (though it seems likely).

They look beautiful. Can't wait.
The screens are 1024x576. Does that mean Fable 2 will render lower than 720p like Halo 3 and COD4?

Sometimes there's Wii screens that are way past the resolution that system can do too... I sometimes wonder if there's any rhyme or reason to it lol.

Hmm, you guys didn't include the pic that looked funky to me. Good decision, it seemed kinda stretched.

For some reason, the character models look like they are all of big fat dwarfs in these screenshots. The backgrounds look excellent though. My hope for Fable II is that it will be somewhat like Oblivion, but more focused and with a ton more variety when it comes to dungeons and outdoor environments.
Then again, since I was fooled by the last fable, I will be renting this one first before I buy.

I don't think (With the detail shown above) that this will run on 400 something p... probably at a regular scale of 720p. The detail is too astonishing to be just 480p or w/e.

All Xbox 360 games are required to run at atleast 720p. Although, as you may have heard, some choose to go with a slightly lower resolution, but with more effects added ontop (like Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4, both which run at 640p *I believe*). In other words, Fable 2 will be atleast 720p (most likely) or 1280x720p (if you like it all the way out). 480p is 640x480 (with a few variations for widescreen etc) and is basically a f*ckton less pixels than 720p. I wouldn't worry about Fable 2 being anything less than 720p, if not 1080p.

The beadcrumbs are kind of ugly, at first glance. I hope they do something a bit more subtle and less unappealing for their navigation, but I do like what they're doing. I definitely know I've spent way too much time staring at the mini map in GTAIV when I could be learning the city. That said, I've actually been making an effort (when it seems reasonable) to go my own way.
Speaking of going my own way, it's unfortunate you can't do some kind of write-ins or key up locations on the map in GTAIV. Sure, you can add one waypoint, but that's no good for odd locations you want to visit later. It'd be nice of there were some Phantom Hourglass functionality there for when I find armor, health packs, free guns, pigeons, and what have you.
