While it had been rumored before (slightly incorrectly), the official release date of Soul Calibur IV has been announced. Namco Bandai has confirmed that the game will hit on July 29 and will have a regular edition and a premium edition. The exact content of the premium edition has been named, but is not currently detailed; it will contain a prequel Artbook/Comic, a so-called "Tournament Kit", and "exclusive access to extra customization content." Whether or not the game will end up going the way of Bad Company and have the exclusive content available for download is unknown, and what the Tournament Kit specifically contains is also unknown. Capcom did say that the Kit would: "give fans the opportunity to document the battle amongst friends," but we're sure we'll hear more about this before the game releases this summer.

I wonder what the extra customization content is? Better be good for an extra 20 bucks. Can't wait to play this game though. Yoda is almost as good as Link was on the gamecube.

If they put out a Yoda-free version I'd be a lot more interested. Link however was awesome.

yoda will be great i'm sure. but i'd rather play this with a PS3 controller. i've just noticed that moves are more executable with it's d-pad than 360 pad or stick.
besides, a dueling Vader reminds me of the actual GOOD trilogy. ;)

Why are all games coming out in special editions and regular editions? As if games didn't cost enough already! And it is highly unlikley Vader is coming on the special disc, what would be the incentive then, to get the game on both consoles?

I didn't even know that SCIII had a special character for each console until I saw a review of it (this one http://www.expotv.com/videos/reviews/22/200/SoulCalibur2/244157). I thought that only the GCN version was special b/c it had Link :D
The tournament kit is probably a ridiculous ruled notebook similar to what some game manuals have in the back for notes >:(
