Mark Rein has been making comments recently that despite appearances, the 360 version of Unreal Tournament III is "coming along really nicely." The real story is nicer even than that apparently, as Rein says that the internal team knows the date, but that they just haven't released it yet. When asked if they have a release date, Rein replied "We do, but I don't think we put it out yet," then said "It's kind of a when it's done thing. We have an idea of when it's coming." There wasn't any kind of a reason put forward, and then Rein teased a bit claiming that the media would see the game running at a press event in Las Vegas soon. We don't really see why the final release date couldn't just be nailed down, as Rein "was playing it yesterday here in my office." The only downside we could see is the eventual announcement (thanks to MS's draconian ideas about player generated content) that the 360 version won't have any mod support.

na they didn't. I think epic is trying to push the unreal engine on PS3. They've obviously seen the issue devs are having with the newer technology and want unreal engine to be the solution.

I'm looking forward to it mainly because it has bots. I'd rather get some friends on my team and play against the computer, most multiplayer games don't let you do that.

Especially if it doesn't have mod support which is the only thing keeping it alive on the other platforms. If MS does say no to it, they are basically giving one more bulletpoint to the competition's online service(which also happens to be free).
Why would I pay $60 for the biggest gimped version of UTIII again?

Well you got me wrong.Its a terrible game with or without mods.I can understand the importance of security more than anything.I would take a secure network for my gaming investment over a possible virus ridden network any day.
What i am saying is.
With games like halo3 and cod4 and gears why would anyone want to play ut3?I can understand on a ps3 because to be honest there lineup is lacking.But with a 360 people dont need this piss poor excuse for a played out fps.
As far as a free psn goes i have to laugh.If a dealer offered you a 1995 ford aspire 5 speed for free or a 2008 ferrari for 4 dollars a month what would you take?
We all here understand you dont own a 360 but its your own damn fault.Maybe next time when you smarten up you will buy the real game console.Now heres 20 dollars go buy a bluray movie to keep yourself busy i got GAMES to PLAY

Gonna take a look at this...i've really wanted to play this on the 360, but my pc download has doe over 60% today alone...so i should be playing with it a bit after exams are over...
I want to see how the achievements with this are...if they're not that hard to do...I'll probably get it...

Tony I would guess if we don't get any kind of mod support Epic would make it up to us with new levels or built-in mods or something, or maybe exclusive DLC.
I don't understand why people get so nuts about mods. I used to play the first Unreal Tournament and it was a nightmare trying to play online, to play a single round I had to constantly download new levels or mods or sound effects or what have you just to play the damn game. Having all that stuff (I think) just fragments the community because no one has the same game anymore.

That's one of the reasons why I don't like the online PC scene. I was watching my roomie play COD4 online for the PC...it was like every game he went into he had to download new shit before he could play. So dumb if you ask me...

The mods are rarely used on the PoS3 in MP. I have both gaming boxes, and the only thing I play on the PoS3 is UTIII. And, really the only folks screwing around with mods would be when we have private 'friends only' matches. So, I don't really see it as a big deal.
CAN'T WAIT for this to get on the 360.
