Today, Ubisoft wanted to make it known that
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a success, selling 2 million copies worldwide since its
release a few weeks back. And Ubisoft also wanted to make it known that those 2 million sales were a big surprise, even to them. So, with
RSV2's success and
Assassin's Creed doing
better than expected, the number crunching Ubi crew decided to increase their fiscal guidance for 2008. And that's a good thing. We love seeing everyone over at Ubi doing their happy-happy dance which they do exceptionally well when $1.5 billion in sales rains down from the gaming heavens.

I can't believe that! I bought this game on launch and I brought it home and thought it was awful. The only reason it sold that many copies is because people like me who loved rainbow 1 bought it. It was a big let down for me. I don't know about the rest of you. As a matter of fact I took my copy to Gamestop today and traded it in toward GTA 4 reserve. I say if you haven't bought it yet, Don't. Save the money and get the COD4 maps on the 3rd and buy GTA 4.

Oh, and this is a terrible thing. This means that companies can slap a sequel sticker to their product and barely change it in any way.... and people will settle. Then they continue to do the same in the future, because it will sell won't it?

I agree with you TungstenPlug. The game sucks. I loved the first but this sequel is poor showing.

Was that sales across both the Ps3 and 360?
I would like this game sooo much better if they fixed the ridiculous amount of lag in the multiplayer.

I loved the game. Thought the single player campaign was pretty good. On par with anything else and that much more enjoyable in co-op. And unless you have someone with a retarded connection you shouldn't experience any lag. If you enjoyed the multiplayer the first time around you should be able to enjoy it the second time.
BTW This is more new stuff and much more enjoyable than the ultimate rehash known as sports titles... madden always springs to mind...

well yes I will say you only get lag unless your connection is crappy. As far as multiplayer goes, its the same old shit but crappy maps. I say everyone should take it back and put it towards your GTA 4 reserve. BTW I am not a hater Big Filth, I just know what I see and what I see is SHIT!!!

I hate to keep commenting but this game has me so fired up! What they really should have done is just sell the maps on XBL as DLC and not ahve made a sequel, but this way here they can slap together a shitty storyline like they did (cause no one knows what went on) and charge us $60 for it! I will probably relate this game to Rainbow Six Lockdown (AKA Letdown)!

@ all haters of R6V2!
So since you loved the first R6V, and it's basically the same game formula as the first R6V but with new maps, more weapons, a sprint function, a new leveling system, and fixed glitches you hate it? I don't understand your logic.

when i saw video of R6 Vegas 2 multiplayer, i immediatly thought: "counter-strike graphics?"
the environments have much to be desired...as well as the same ol "stack n clear" gameplay.
but, but SPRINT button!!...eh, no. not even that helps it.

they hate the fact that ubisoft is trying to take us as a bunch of suckers by selling us the same game for $60 again. it should have just been an expansion pack or something.

TungstenPlug - WHAT! Sorry buddy can't even begin to agree with you. This is a GREAT GAME! It is a sequel (or prequel) in any case of course it is going to look and feel like the first one...

Oh, and another thing that is great about R6v2 is the fanbase. When I get online, I am not greeted by racist loudmouth 12 years who crave attention, but I am usually greeted by polite adults who are looking to have a good clean match. So, IMO, this was a good purchase.
You cannot get that with Halo 3, and you barely get that with COD 4 anymore.
P.S. I love the sprint button

This game was way too easy, my brother and I ran thru this on realistic and it presented no challenges to us. There were no parts we got stuck on or had to question our sanity for playing this game. I want a game to challenge me not allow me to walk thru the game in two days.

i recommend that you play one match of cod4 put in r6v2 and see if you dont want your money back... i think what everyone is complaining about is the 60 dollar price tag and not so much that this is worst game ever (ao2) not worth more than 30-40 new
