Looks very similar to the Episode 3 boss in Duke Nukem 3d.

I gotta be honest, it's pretty hard to muster up any sort of emotion (positive or negative) for this game.
Is there ANYBODY out there excited for this game? I'm not trying to bash the game or any of it's fans, I'm just not convinced there's another soul out there whose interest in the game isn't purely comical or ironic.

This is a good point. I mean back in the day when Duke Nukem was a fun game, what did they have to compete with? Doom? Rise of the Triad? Now, the FPS genre is far too large to enumerate here. So it's hard to get excited about another FPS -- especially one that has been largely vaporware for years.

jeez it makes me wonder if xbox360fanboy and other commenters are new to the gaming scene
For any old school gamers out there, you know Duke Nukem kicks ass, back in those days 3D Shooters were dominated by Quake1, Quake2, Unreal & Unreal Tournament...Those fast paste games took tremendous skill. With 3D Realms record, you will see they never disapoint, their games are always real godo...
Whenever i hear negative comments, I tend to think the reader/writer must not have been part of the PC gaming community back then, because if they were, their tone would be a lot different.
I think the reason is console gamers taking over the gaming industry leaving PC games behind...I personally dont mind, as I prefer console games over PC (used to be other way around)
The only thing that matters, is the end result. If it takes 10 years to make the game, and it ends up being a kick ass game, then who really cares about how long it took? If the game sucks, then so be it...No need to be completly negative about the game, Prey took what 6-8 years to develope? and that game kicked ass
anyway, let the negativity roll in lets hear it

If you listened to last weeks fancast (number 55) you would have heard we were fans of the original Duke titles... hell I love me some Manhattan Project too.
But this title was announced when I was in grade school and I've since gone off to college and working here.
Hard to be excited for anything after 12 years.
But if it's great, I'll gladly eat crow on this one.

Dude,
That's exactly what I was thinking! Quake1 with it's revolutionary Quakeworld server listing system which eventually become "Gamespy" (not made by IDSoftware but you get my point). Old school CTF, deathmatch where skills were necessary!
Doom... soo good... Quake... yum!!! Duke3D pwn!!!!
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!! Ok well maybe I can after 10years! :P

Anyone excited? ha...
Lets see, after 9 years of no news at all, 3D Realms released their first trailer for Duke Nukem Forever about 2 months ago, and what happened?
It was the most digged story during that month, the news of the trailer hit hundreds of websites, with both positive and negative comments, 3DRealms forums were packed full of guests, users, people like me who have been registered at the 3DRealms forums but rarely post...
There are thousands of users at the 3D Realms forums every single day posting, talking about the game, etc.
So your right, I can't think of a single person who is interested in this game...especially not these new console gamers

It's a little exciting, because it's finally going to come out and it won't be that 3rd person crap the PS1 had. I liked playing the Duke Nukem 3D on PS1, but then they ruined it with the 3rd person games that followed.
I want to return to the world of an Evil Dead/They Live homage character who kills pig-cops, slaughters alien overlords, and pay stripper to "shake it, baby."
