With the help of the team over at the Gamerscore Blog, Evil Avatar got a chance to get a few questions answered by PopCap Games' Greg Canessa about two of their upcoming XBLA games, Feeding Frenzy 2 and Peggle.
From the interview we learn that not only will Peggle be amazingly, addictively fun (who would have guessed that?), but we find out that PopCap is working very hard to bring multiplayer to Peggle. Canessa confirms that the XBLA version of Peggle is guaranteed to include
Update: Canessa did not specifically confirm whether or not Peggle's multiplayer modes will include co-op.

Who really cares about Peggle and Feeding Frenzy 2. We want arcade games like X-Men, TMNT: Turtles In Time, The Simpsons arcade game, and SSF2HD Remix. Quit trying to get the casual market with these dumb old PC games. After all TMNT: The Arcade Game was the top selling Xbox Live Arcade game last year, so I would think you would know better Microsoft what people want!

Dark Knight, I don't think you'd be saying that if you'd played Peggle. When Yahtzee (of Zero Punctuation) called it "the gaming equivalent of highly-refined crack cocaine" he was not shitting around. Evenings disappear down that well at the bottom of the screen, and I would never have called myself a "casual gamer".
I'm mildly pissed that I bought the PC version just before they announced the XBLA version, but a) I think I'm going to like it better with a mouse than a control pad, and b) I got it for half-off with their New Years sale, so I can't bitch too loudly. I really, really hope the demo supports co-op, because I might buy it again just for that.

I'm a BIG FAN of online co-op. I think EVERY game should have it. They can expect my money if they can get that figured out.

Peggle Delux had local multiplayer, but no coop.
I don't think I'll be buying it though, Delux still keeps me busy. Maybe when I get 100% pegs cleared on all the levels i'll give the Live version a try.

Peggle or no Peggle, I will not give one second of my day to pay attention to the XBLA cancer that IS (...or was) Greg Canessa.
