Wanna play a game? Well, that's exactly what Brash Entertainment is asking as they just announced a brand new game based on the
Saw movie franchise.
Saw (the video game) will have its own unique story based in the
Saw universe as Brash works closely with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures to make it oh so authentic. Specifics aren't available, but we do know that
Saw will release sometime in October 2009 and utilize teh awesomeness that the Unreal Engine 3 can bring. Now, let's hope the game can be better than the movie sequels they've been churning out lately. Zing!

WTF? The sequels have been just as amazing as the first movie.
I can't wait for SAW 5, it's a shame they're taking a year off and not releasing it until October 2009 though. Simultaneous game release it looks like.

Which company do you work for? Lionsgate or Twisted Pictures? Or is this a Brash employee getting a head start?

lmao
true enough, saw was good for one film only NOT F***** FOUR!
not quite sure how they'd make a game out of it when you can't actually feel the pain?
maybe they'll shock your controller

this would be an interesting game to play, but there would probably be 0 replay value unless the person who is jigsaw changes each time you play it.

I have little hope for any movie-to-game release, but especially this one. If you're a fan of the movies, fine, but come on, it's obvious they spend at little money as possible on the sequels and a game with a Saw tie-in just reaks of bargain bin shovelware.

From what I remember, and you can look on IMDB too, SAW I cost 1 million, II cost around 5 million, III cost around 10 million, and IV was around 10 million as well. They're filming 5 and 6 back to back to try and save money, and also taking Halloween 2008 off.

Saw 1: Good
Saw 2: Great
Saw 3: OK
Saw 4: STUPIDANDCONFUSINGANDTOOMANYDAMN FLASHBACKS
And come on, the acting gets worst every year.

Isn't the "saw universe" our universe?

no, as in our universe there is no such serial killer in operation

Now that doesn't make any damn sense.

makes sense to me?
the saw universe has a serial killer that kills people in the methods that saw does. our universe has no such serial killer.
just as in the "buffy universe" (while it looks like ours) there is vampires and vampire slayers. to my knowledge these don't exist in "our" universe either.

Your argument is irrelevant. Vampires do not exist in our "universe", but serial killers like jigsaw ( and the methods he uses ) are possible in our "universe". I watched Untraceable last week and don't consider it a separate "universe" from ours just because no one has done what the killer in that movie did. You watch a "realistic?" horror movie and get scared/nervous because you know that something like that could happen in real life or in our "universe"

Anyways, to hell with this argument. I game sounds interesting... I'm curious to learn more.

Nevermind, they're no longer taking 2008 off anymore! Yes!
As far as the movies go, the rumor that SAW 5 would take a year off was false. Lionsgate is eyeing October 24th 2008 for the release of SAW V, and SAW VI has also been marked on the calendar for October 30th, 2009.
Very smart move on their part not to skip a year.
