Despite average reviews and its very own scandal, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men has managed to sell one million copies. As you might expect, the announcement of the milestone also included the very important keyword "franchise." Yup, it looks like a sequel to the game is a certainty now. Furthermore, the game has outperformed the same period of 2006 sales for the previous IO Interactive title Hitman: Blood Money. SCi expects sales to remain high for the rest of its fiscal year. That's good news for SCi, especially in light of their recent troubles. Now all we can do is wait for the sequel: Kane & Lynch 2: Even More Deader Men.

Great news. I'm probably in the minority in thinking this, but the presentation was really strong and the characters had a great dynamic (at least early in the game). Hopefully Io will listen to all of the due criticism of the gameplay and build on the quality work they put into the music, story, and presentation.
And you know they'll have online co-op this time.

The only reason it sold 1 million is BECAUSE of the scandal. Duh.

That's a possibility, I know I personally have the moral fortitude to continue to boycott this game and any that come from Eidos.

This game is awesome. Say what you want but it seems that people forgot about a little thing called gameplay. Just because the graphics are not as good as some AAA titles does not mean the game is bad.

Personally the graphics didn't bother me at all, but i felt that the controls were atrocious for a game that is priced at $60.

I loved the story and the dialogue. The problem with the game is that it wants to be a 3rd person shooter and it just doesn't work. Should be a 1st person.

Uh huh. Yeah, sure, people will pay $60 because a game was bad.
RENTALS, maybe. But not SALES. Think before you drink.

I loved Hitman: Blood Money and I really really wanted this game to be fun. It was not. I'm glad I rented it instead of buying. I suppose the good news here is that they'll take all the poor reviews into consideration when they design the sequel (and, with any luck, will never make another level like that dumptruck one).

Gameplay? Lol? The gameplay was a joke.
Guns where terrible, aiming terrible, AI terrible, everything about it was bad. The multiplayer, while a good idea cannot be put in the hands of the average XBL user cause their retards.
In short it was a bad game that sold due to hype, i can see this trend picking up soon lots of craptacula games that look good till you buy them.

Even if the game is terrible in terms of mechanics I think they have the right pieces of the puzzle for a franchise. If they can take more time to refine the mechanics and make a second game then I think the next game will be what everyone expected in the first game.
