To say that the anime series Dragon Ball Z has remarkably long legs is a bit of an understatement. Considering the series was officially ended over ten years ago and they're still making games based on it ... well, words fail us. This was back when SEGA still had a console in the race. Hell, the N64 and wasn't even available by the time the series was over, and the original Playstation had only been available for a month in Japan. The point is, you see, Dragon Ball Z is old. It is, however, apparently still popular enough to create a 360 game based on it. Entitled Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit, it looks to expand on the fighting formula set by the Budokai series. It uses cel-shaded graphics and it looks pretty damned good. At times, the trailer is nearly indistinguishable from the original series. If you're a Dragon Ball fan, you'll probably want to keep your eye on it.
Yo thats awesome! I just bought the Wii game, and its a LOT of fun! It's actually one of the first Wii games that I've played for a few hours straight (I like the Wii a lot, it just can't hold my attention for more then an hour or two haha)
But thats really awesome! I was just thinking yesterday "man, I Really hope they make one for the 360!" And they apparently are! No rumors on US based release right? Just by the video, it says 2008 (obviously for Japan), so maybe end of 2008 for us? or probably more likely 2009?
At some point they will be able to match a video game to the animation style of the series. This isn't that point though, as the lines appear to be just as sharp and just as glossy as the previous 10 DBZ games.
The gameplay does look like a step up from the previous ones though, so that's something.
Can't wait!! But is it just me or did that look EXACTLY like the original Budokai? It better not end at the Freeza saga considering they showed Perfect Cell and SSJ2 Gohan in that trailer.
I've never been fond of the games, but was a fan of the show. The graphics in this one are truly amazing, though, and I'd say look better than the show at times, simply because the capture the detail of the show combined with depth. Very cool stuff. A definite rental for me.
I'm dissapointed, it looks like they've reverted back to the old ways of the first 3 budokai games. I hate those games. I wish they would expand more on the Tenkaichi series instead. Those are what DBZ games are meant to be.
this game looks good, like a real (updated) version of Final Bout, thats faster. Looks like Naruto Taisen for the GC too, gameplay wise and graphics wise, which is pretty good.
sadly though, Freeza saga is pretty dang old, they need more characters like incoporating it all like in Final Bout... GT and Z characters, pretty much all main characters in their SSJs
