There's a new
Turok demo available right now, but you'll have to pre-order the game to play it. Available at select retailers in the US (Best Buy, Wal-mart, GameStop and Game Crazy) they're handing out a
Turok demo disc that gamers will get once a pre-order is placed and cash exchanges hands. The demo is said to give about 30 minutes of gameplay, which we think is a pretty good taste of what dinosaur killing will feel like. And if you're one of those people who hates pre-ordering games, we wouldn't worry. We're sure the
Turok demo will be available for download off the Marketplace soon'ish. We're sure of it.

How counter-intuitive is that? By the game, then you get to try it to see if you were stupid or not in pre-ordering it....

You can always pre-order it , take the demo, and then get your cash back, or apply the pre-order money to a different game.
If you really wanted the demo, that is.

demos sometime 'leak' online too and can be burned to a regular cd-r and played on the system. no geeky hacking necessary. atleast I remember this happen for Guitar Hero 3. *fingers crossed*

save the time.. I got the demo around 6 weeks ago from a friend at Gamestop, played it for around 15 minutes, then gave it back to him..
i'm not sure what it was that i didn't like.. maybe the dark caves and single flashlight you had, the lack of a map, the cave layout (which reminded me of the one from Jericho), the lack of ai from the other npc there who just stood there as you were attacked, then told you to hurry up and keep up with him, the fact that whenever the velociraptor attacked, you were knocked back, and disoriented for about 2 seconds, the fact that the sound only came out in stereo, so you couldn't hear them before they attack, or just the fact that it was boring..
even area 51:blacksite was more fun than this demo..

I ended up getting the turok demo On tuesday, when I was at gamestop talking with one of the guys there about the original Turok for the N64, he showed me the demo and the first thing I said was "wow, no fog!" so he hooked me up with the preorder bonus and told me to check out the demo. I did so and now I'm preordering it. It's even coming out on my birthday, how sweet is that?
