The Dropkick Murphy's almost make it worth that, though "Shipping Off to Boston" would've made it a must buy.

Indeed. When I saw Dropkick Murphy's I got all excited momentarily. "I'm Shipping up to Boston" would have made for an A-W-E-S-O-M-E GH song.

You can milk a cat, too. You can milk anything with nipples.

To me, the better question is why can't all of these songs work in GHIII as well? They're both from Activision and I'm sure it would have been possible.
I mean, I guess you could claim "more money" from one angle... but then on the other side, there's a LOT of people with GHIII that likely don't have II. It opens up their potential sales so much that it'd make up for it.
I don't get this stuff. It's starting to really bother me. Rock Band is going to have so much DLC clearly, but what happens if RB2 hits the 360? Nothing I ever bought would work?
I'm just worried about the seemingly inevitable day when I'm going to be asked to buy songs from GHII for GHIII that I've already downloaded. GHI at least had the excuse of not being on the 360.
I don't know why interviews with these companies never bring this concept up.

Word. I've wondered this too. I don't see why I can't have all my DLC from GHII work in GHIII. I mean, I BOUGHT it. For example, if I buy a new iPod, all the MP3s I purchased on iTunes will play on it. I know there's a difference in the service, it's a video game, yadayada, but the basic concept is the same.
And, Tony, you bring up a good point that it could open the door for a little more sales for DLC in GHIII, when they've already been outdone by Rock Band in terms of amount of content released. I would think that Harmonix probably plans to include past RB DLC in any future RBs. They seem to have a better understanding of their market's desires...Phase was an example of this, using your own music as the game...plus, with all that "RB is a 'platform'" speak, they better...

Burgerbat, apparently "the XBL consumer" has nipples -- see your earlier comment.

Yeah, my nipples are actually really tender from all the milking done by MS.

I think Harmonix said that Rock Band is going to be the ultimate game... I don't see them releasing Rock Band 2 anytime soon. They pretty much have a solid game. I can see a Rock Band special edition (with the DLC included on the disc).
on a side note, I'm sure GH 4 will be out shortly... with added bosses and more weapons for boss battles (sarcasm).

Why ignore a game just because a sequel is out?
To the people whining: go out and buy 2 if you want these songs.

I think you're missing the point. Alot of people own GHII already, bought a bunch of content, and think that Activision should make their DLC accessible across all GH iterations. What is so fundamentally different in songs from GHII that makes it so they can't work in GHIII? BTW, all the songs in this pack are shit, so don't think I'm upset because I can't listen to "The Bled", whoever the fuck they are.
