Alright, we've got good news and bad news about Kane and Lynch. Pick a hand. You sure you want that one? Alright, bad news first then. The bad news is that the game will not feature online co-op. Yeah, a game that centers around two characters working together doesn't have online co-op. The news was confirmed by Eurogamer in an interview with the game's director Jens Peter Kurup. From what we can gather of Kurup's circuitous answers, online co-op was scrapped in order to deliver the game on time.
In happier news, the multiplayer mode for Kane and Lynch has been revealed and it sounds like a lot of fun. Described by the developers at IO Interactive as such a good idea that they were surprised no one thought of it before, the multiplayer mode has players performing a bank heist. Titled Fragile Alliance, the mode has players attempt to rob a bank within a certain time limit while avoiding police fire. The twist is that players can turn on each other in order to get more loot. However, killing teammates immediately flags you as a traitor, so one has to pick the right moment to betray. Make it back to the getaway car with extra cash and you can purchase better weapons the following round. As a bonus, betrayed teammates are resurrected as police officers so they can exact their bittersweet revenge. In short, it sounds like a great idea. Here's hoping it makes us forget about online co-op.

Then why the hell wouldn't you just delay the game? What is wrong with getting a game right? Why do people want to rush unfinished crap?
Everyone knows this holiday lineup is stacked already, why not release when the competition is weak?

the offline co-op is so weak.
but the whole bank robbery thing is making me want this game.
if there will be a multiplayer co-op patch, then this will be a must get.

@1/@3 upon closer inspection (I RTFA'd) i guess it's not really like the "Bagman" multiplayer mode in Kingpin.

Hmmm...Halo 3 supports 4 player online co-op...and you can't support two? I'm sorry I'll pass for Army of Two.

I don't know much about this, but if they've implemented the mechanics of co-op in an offline setting, then how difficult can it be to make it online? I'd wait a couple of extra months for them to sort it out.. This game probably just lost 10-15% in all it's reviews.

no coop no buy. Why would you really want more people to buy the game if it's coop. Ms needs to put it's foot down on companies that use excuses like " we ant to deliver the product on time. I'm calling bull one this and any other company that doesn't get off thier butts and deliver us a game worth #$60. Mabey the price should reflect the game content. If your remove something or scrap it then the price should reflect that. I say $40 and under for game without coop from now on!!! ps i wouldn't buy this game now!!

Split screen coop = tiny, tiny player base.
I was optimistic about this game. Now I don't care.
Hopefully they'll patch it when a clue rolls around. I need another single player first person shooting game like a hole in my head. An online coop game, however, would be a whole different story.

Wow. I am SO PISSED!!! I have been looking forward for this game for 3 months now. AND NOW THIS??? why didnt they just tell us this in the first place. "hey 360 lovers, great news, we are developing a game based on TWO robbers who have eccentric personalities. oh but uhh... were fu**in stupid and want to 'release on time' so were not going to add co-op. Oh but you can pay 300 bucks for a plane ticket and fly your friend in town to share this now piece of shi* game on a split television screen. We know you wont mind"
YAH BIG FU**IN MISTAKE. not buying this pos game now. Luckily I have a 57 inch tv so it will be like playing on a piece of crap television now. thanks!!! Why dont you guys go back to hitman where you actually accomplished something meaningfull to the gaming world and not a huge fu**in let down.
