I remember a time when content was free, maps especially - I suppose if one company starts doing it the others will follow.

Is this content free for the PC version? I got CnC3 for PC instead of 360 because of this, and it will probably also influence my choice of platform for HL2 Orange Box (TF2), even though Valve swears they'll make all 360 maps free -- they can't supply user-created maps, so PC it is. I love the idea of a "standardized" platform like the 360, but I don't like how "standardized" so often implies "closed".
