Over at Newsweek online, N'Gai Croal is reporting that a little birdie told him Namco's
Beautiful Katamari will be available exclusively on the Xbox 360. In his article, Croal says that he spoke with a reputable source who confirmed that
Beautiful Katamari would indeed be exclusive to the 360 and that Microsoft and Namco's relationship has never been better. Which we have to agree with as it's more than obvious that Namco has shown the 360 lots of love lately. An official announcement and more
Katamari news may come at July's E3, but for now we have good reason to think that
Beautiful Katamari will roll exclusively onto the 360. Oh the joy!

Unless a substantial check was cut out in Namco's name, I'd be shocked if this story turned out to be true.

It's kinda sad/funny that we want this to be an exclusive. Being able to play it ourselves should be all that matters, but no, we don't want anyone else playing it either. oh well. maybe sony shouldn't screw up their next console.

I don't care, as long as it comes out on the 360.

I hope this is true, as it would send a message to other Japanese developers, especially ones making more niche titles.
Let's hope this relationship helps pave the way for Tekken 6.

Exclusive or not, I'm excited to see this game on the 360. The original was great, I was even thinking of buying a ps2 just for katamari... but no point now :)

Namco Bandai and Microsoft really seem to be getting along well.
There are plenty of exclusive games on Xbox Live Arcade from Namco Bandai.
Look at how the new awesome Pac-Man Championship Edition was also released exclusively for Xbox Live Arcade.
Pac Man. C.E. really is a GREAT game! It really is a BIG improvement in the way Pac Man is played!
And look at the way Ace Combat 6 is now 100% exclusive to the Xbox 360.
I think it's cool that Katamari will be exclusive to the Xbox 360.

I'm not so sure about this being exclusive.

Even their own website states that it's coming to the Waitstation3. Maybe a timed exclusive? Which to me means nothing.. If Namcobandai was so buddy buddy with MS why aren't they releasing Time Crisis 4 or Tekken? Seem's to me that the 360 is getting the garbage from NamcoBandai with the likes of Pac-Man and Katamari rehashes that have been out for years on other systems. This E3 will be interesting to see what MS has up it's sleaves or if Sony will blow the doors off with exclusives. If they just rehash the titles they announced last year Mass Effect, GTA IV, Halo 3, etc then that will be a real let down.

Well Dark Ressurection would be on 360 if Microsoft would open up arcade or a new service for downloadable games.
Anyway we finally have an Katamari game with achievements and online multiplayer (come on namco if you dont then your lazy). I wonder if the its a completely new engine.

The press release you linked is from april. It states in the linked article that an agreement is coming to "fruition". A new press release can be fired off at any time similar to the 'Saints Row' cancellation.
