We got a couple tips about GameStop listing Halo Wars' release date as 12/31/07, and before this spreads like wildfire, we'd just like to point out this reeks of pea soup. Excardon our logic here, but why would Halo 3 and Halo Wars release in the same year, let alone Holiday season? Obviously, GameStop is just trying to secure some pre-orders, but you may want to get a canceltation on those before you get your hopes up. Once we get some concrete details on the development and release on Halo Wars, we'll report it here. No probalo![Thanks, Joseph]

Halo 3 launched 2 years before the game came out/ comes out. I know Halo wars was announced a while ago but that was just a CGI trailor. Until we see some real in engine stuff there is no chance of it coming out. And it is obviously going to be used as a 2008 killer app, so after April 2008, in fact HMV lists it as February 2008 which is more sensible, but still too early.
I reckon it will launch around/after Killzone for the PS3, unless Bill Gates says it like he did about the PS3 and Halo 3.

Anyhow, since they're in such strikingly different genres, I don't really see how one would affect the other, but I don't mind. There's already too many good games coming out at the end of this year anyways.

I think halo wars will come out holiday 2008. I think the only reason halo wars was announced so early, is so people would not bitch that they are not getting a halo 4 if halo 3 had already been out and then halo wars announced.
Remember, we havent even seen a picture of game footage yet. Give me a break. No way they will have this done by feb any they havent released a picture. bah.

Before they officially released the date to Half Life Episode 2, EB games had it listed for Dec. 31. My guess is they just put that in as a place holder.

Why do you guys even mention crap like this? It's a placeholder date! Go to the EBGames or Gamestop website and look at all the games that have dates like that. This is not new at all. Sometimes I think I should blog for X3F...
