Rock out to the first vids of Guitar Hero III
Yup, these are videos of Guitar Hero III. Yup, they look pretty much like Guitar Hero II (and Guitar Hero I for that matter). Of course, no one really cares do they? It's Guitar Hero! With that said, there are some small differences worth noting. First of all, the character models look like they've received some new-gen love and are more detailed. The HUD has some slight graphical tweaks as well, though none of them seem to affect gameplay. The star power meter has been replaced with a series of light bulbs. As you fill the meter, more of them light up. They slowly fade out once star power is activated. In addition to displaying your current multiplier, the left side of the HUD now keeps track of how many notes you've hit consecutively. Frankly, we'd like the ability to turn that feature off, as it could add undue stress to achieving those perfect runs. You'll find another video embedded after the break. Check it out and tell us what you think.

Maybe its the fact that X3F is going goo-goo ga-ga over GH III, while routinely attacking GRAW 2, when they have essentially the same "flaw;" that they are the same exact game with only superficial changes to gameplay and graphics, yet are being repackaged and sold for full price. If it's good for the goose . . .
Please be consistent in your take on games. The bias against GRAW 2 was evident from the get-go, while the bias towards Gh III is equally so.

I see a slight difference in the design of the notes themselves. they're smaller, and stuff. I'm not a fan, but there's little I can do.

I guess you can say it is becoming the new madden...except 1 key factor....People will actually settle for a simple 'roster update' in guitar hero..

Bluegrass - 95% of the gameplay is in the songs, and there's different songs in each one. So they're 95% different.
GRAW however is an expansion pack disguised as a real game, just like Black Arrow, just like Island Thunder, etc. I don't care. I just dont buy them because it's a rip off. If you're really hardcore about it I can totally understand buying GRAW2, even with Vegas available.
The difference, though, is huge. Your argument is irrelevant.

Honestly they need to put more music into the games. Rock is great, but there are some country songs that would rock on GH. I really hope they don't have the price set to $90.00 for GH3 and I hope the GH2 guitar will still work with GH3.

Sell the guitar standalone. How am I supposed to play multiplayer with just 1 guitar? You want me to buy 2 copies of the game?
There better be a wireless guitar in GH3.

Even though I abosolutely love the guitar and Nixie-tube themed HUD, the differences will take some getting used to. It is also more busy than the previous Guitar Heros. The note counter isn't necessary. I'd rather have a detailed "end of song" report than to be distracted during the song!

When the person messes up on the song, it sounds like the song just gets quiet. In gh II the guitar sound actually just goes away when you mess up instead of just getting quieter.

they're tubes for a guitar amp, not light bulbs... I think it adds a nice touch...

Too bad they don't have face-mapping so you could throw your face on stage.
