Rally fans rejoice, for the Colin McRae: DIRT demo has finally arrived on Marketplace. If you prefer your racing a little muddier than, say, Forza 2, then DIRT is just the thing for you. If the footage we've seen of the game is anything to go by, then DIRT looks to be a stellar title. Why not download the 770MB demo and find out for yourself? Have any fanboys out there taken this filthy racing sim for a test drive yet? What do you think?

First it was okay but then I plugged my wheel in and wow this is a great game :D
Got it on pre-order now. So much detail has been put into the force feedback, each gear change, clicking at each inch the wheel turns. Its great :D

Damn, I totally forgot to check this out before I left for work this morning. With Forza and this coming out, I think i'm going to have to pick up the racing wheel. Its so damned expensive though! Ah well, thats why we work

with the wheel and a few changed settings to the wheel the game plays amazingly awesome. I have not bought a rally(ish) game since.. well, since that Al Unser Jr game back in the day. Time to change that :D

It's kinda strange to say that something so dirty is beautiful, but this game truly is. I especially like the in-car views, complete with driver.

The demo is great. It does offer up the 3 types of racing, beautiful graphics and lighting effects. The cockpit view is something to FEEL for sure. I think I'll be picking this game up and also owning Forza 2. This game is a very faithful Colin McRae Rally game. A must download.

Colin McRae prevails yet again. I just love these games for the horrific crashes, something to do when your bored... just drive into/off something very very big and very very solid.
Hope the damage physics have been developed
Downloading as we speak...

I read somewhere's that this was "arcadey" in a negative conotation. IMO, that is NOT a bad thing as the market seems currently saturated with sim type racing games.
As an "arcadey" type racer, I'd score the demo about an 8.5... maybe a 9 if I had the wheel.
Very fun, cars control great, sounds fit the game extremely well, menus are slick and nice to look at and there is a nice variety of track types in the demo.
Overall, great presentation of the game... I give the demo itself a 10 outta 10 as far as demonstrating what the game has to offer.
P.S. Not sure if the dirt and mud effects are as nice as Motorstorm but I don't think that should be a topic to think about when judging this game.

It's a pretty great demo. The graphics and controls were very impressive (the presentation is fantastic) and to be honest I liked it a lot more than the Forza demo. I'll need to play it a few more times before I make any buy decisions though...

Out of curiosity, GnarKiLL04 what settings did you change? I've been dying to know how the game works with the wheel, and from you guys comments, it sounds like it works stellar! Awesome! I have the wheel at home, and I downloaded the game this morning, but had to head to work. Can't wait to try it out tonight!
