Uncovered last week, the remake of
Chronicles of Riddick for new-gen consoles has been confirmed for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. As previously revealed, the game will be titled
Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. The game will receive a graphical face-lift and will feature a new single-player episode that takes place after the eponymous escape from Butcher Bay. Not only that, but the game will also feature online multiplayer. We must note, as does Joystiq, that the developer's commentary mode that was hinted at last week is not mentioned in the Sierra press release. Here's hoping it makes it into the final game.
Assault on Dark Athena is expected to arrive by the end of the year.

This is outrageous. Stop jerking us around and put the god damn game on backwards compatibility.

I loved Escape From Butchers Bay. It was one of the best looking xbox games made. So naturally I am dying for this game on my 360. Yes it is a fps but it is true I rarely used a gun in that game. Bring it on, just in time for christmas!

Marty, I will agree, that is the only game I am bitter about not being backwards compatible, I guess now we know the reasoning behind that. I would still buy the 360 version if/when they make the original compatible. I was always wondering why such a great game wasn't on the list.

Well, the latest Splinter Cell is also backwards compat, even though the 360 version exists. Backwards compat has nothing to do with new products.

True...but splinter cell is infinitely more popular then this underrated game. While I can't argue that point with you I will say I suspect that is one of the main reasons such a stellar title is not b/c.
