Revealed earlier this week, scans of the upcoming Splinter Cell Conviction have been uncovered by our friends at Xboxygen. It looks like Sam Fisher has forgone his typical bald-headed, grizzled appearance for that of a shaggy hobo. You can see him above sporting some ratty hair, a full beard, and an oh-so-trendy man-purse. Metrosexual flavor aside, the scans show off some impressive visuals. There are civilians everywhere and the environments are incredibly detailed. Splinter Cell has always had top notch visuals, but these shots are damned impressive. One shot in particular shows off the level of detail, as coffee cups go flying when Sam knocks a police officer into a nearby cafe. There are also some sequential shots of Sam's new Bourne-tastic maneuvers.
If the gameplay lives up to the graphics, we could be in for a real (Xbox 360 exclusive) treat. Hit the "read" link to check out the scans.

Hey Rich...these aren't scans as far as I can tell...they're pictures of the magazine...right? So more like screenshots than anything...

Indie rock Sam Fisher... I think I prefer him as a badass. Still, Splinter Cell is Splinter Cell, I'm sure I'll love it.

They need to ditch the man purse and his hobo hair...and his outfit. ARGH WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO SAM FISHER?!?!?

What do you mean what have they done to Sam Fisher? He's a 'wanted man' He can't go around looking like he usually would because he has posters of his appearance everywhere.
So logically, he's clearly let himself go so he can't be recognized as easily.
Game looks good.

The new Sam looks badass...
The new direction this game appears to be taken is very welcome, in my opinion. The series peaked with Chaos Theory, and I think it's time for a fresh take on it.
It does look extremely Bourne-like, doesn't it! I like.

Does anyone know which development team is making this game? Double Agent on the 360 was made by a different team than the original Xbox versions, and was lacking some features (like the awesome co-op mode). I hope the original team is making this one...

I love all splinter cell games, the only ones I really thought where weak yet still good games were pandora and double agent. Well double agent for 360 i heard the xbox was great. I thought the whole moral choice was okay but got old quick and are you kidding me no campaing co-op? Montreal should stick with Splinter cell they do the best in my opinion.
