Hey, remember how Peter Moore said the next Splinter Cell would be Xbox 360 exclusive? Remember how it dropped off the face of the earth after that? Well, Splinter Cell Conviction is back in the news again. Finnish gaming magazine, Pelaaja (Player) reveals new details on the game (translated by Gamers Reports).
First and foremost, Splinter Cell Conviction will feature plenty of daytime sneakery. Also, Sam Fisher will be spending a lot of his time navigating crowds, similar to Ubisoft's upcoming title, Assassin's Creed. It seems Sam has left Third Echelon -- for real this time -- in order to save Anna Grimsdóttir, his former coworker. New to the series will be "hero instinct" which allows Sam to sense enemies, displaying them in a manner akin to infrared vision. There is also a danger meter which displays how likely Sam is to be spotted by the enemy. Close combat is receiving an upgrade, which Pelaaja compares to the "Bourne" series of books and movies. We'll note -- as does Joystiq -- that it sounds like Sam won't be quite so stiff this time around. Furthermore, Sam can kill terrorists and mercenaries, but will only be able to incapacitate guards and civilians. Finally, Splinter Cell Conviction will have a revamped physics engine that allows players to utilize their environment more effectively. One example given is using furniture to block doorways.
All in all, it sounds like Splinter Cell. Hopefully, Conviction will add enough to the formula to keep veterans coming back and pique the interest of newcomers (and lapsed fans).

or the stupid ass mini-games that break up any type of continuity DA had, thanks for the stupid mine making mini-game thats why i stoped DA 1/3 the way thought.
Ubi less mini-games more splinter cell.
Why dont you just make a Xbox live arcade game of all the mini games from all the series then you can leave the out completly from the game, seeing as they server no point, really, then you can just charge me 1200 MS points for it along with any other content you would have 3 years ago given away for free to prove your little IP had weight.
yes the lockpick mini-game was inovative, yes it pushed everything ahead, but have more then 5 different mini-games to do basic stuff is really annoying.
i mean the Xbox verison of SC have been good, but this last rush job DA, it sucked. i mean atleast give me a new "next gen" engine, not some haft ass unreal 2.5 or stripped down verison of unreal 3.
why can't its just be just a stealth action game, like the original. I mean that third mission in the original when you have to break into the CIA, i dont think there ever been anything to touch that in any of the others.
talk about a classic gaming moment.

I 100% agree with you. But don't you realize you at no point have to make those bombs? That's a side mission. I can't believe you actually bought SC:DA and just stopped playing because of some optional mission. What's the matter with you?

Of course, had he actually been able to beat the minigames he would have said how innovative and refreshing they were.

I miss Chaos Theory multiplayer it was just so intense and I actually had fun playin. I say in Conviction bring it back to the old wayz bring back the tazer, the mines, the everything that was in chaos theory, you feel me. I put money down that if the game is just like chaos theory but better with better graphics, no lag, and maybe some cool new features but not some stupid features like in double agent taking a tazer away just because newbs dont know how to use it trust me on release day your gonna see millions of servers open just like when chaos theory first just came out. Old memories "GOOD TIMES" please Conviction go back to old wayz like chaos theory.I have hope it will, keep your prayers everyone.
