So after the announcement and the subsequent screenshots, the Gears of War "Hidden Fronts" Multiplayer Map Pack is now available on Xbox Live Marketplace. Complete with four maps, Bullet Marsh, Garden, Process and Subway, you can download it now for 800 MS Points, or, if you have that much will power, or that little interest, you can get the maps for free on September 3rd, 2007. So, are you going to get it now, and play with your friends who have it, perhaps even being strong armed into buying it to stay competitive, or should we wake you up when September ends?

Every time you buy over priced DLC you basically are say "Hey Micro$oft rape my wallet, please!" the whole thing with them forcing Epic to make this cost points is bullshit and it makes me think they probably have a hand or two in the GH2 pricing to.

The maps are a great addition to the game. People are complaining about spending $10 on 4 maps, but would you spend $10 on 6 maps and a new game type? They could have released everything together and charged $10, and I bet there wouldn't be as many people complaining.

I agree Josh (#8). It's just stupid that Microsoft would force Epic to charge for the content, when they said they wanted to give it free to the fans!

I haven't decided, new to live, and wondering if I do get them, if I'm able to play them offline on my other profiles or if its a Live only kind of deal. Let me know whats going on with that. Thanks.

Good point Echo7. They gave us 2 other maps and a gametype for free. Therefore, charging for these 4 maps does not bother me. They are awesome and worth the money. The amount of fun I will have on these 4 maps greatly outweighs the $10 they cost.

It's not about the money, it's about M$ raping our wallets when Epic wouldn't have it in the first place. If M$ wanted money and Epic wanted to give the maps for FREE then someone should have found another sponsor like The Discovery Channel and everyone would have been happy. Not sure why they don't find more sponsors to pay for the added content for all games. Why rap the gamer when sponsors would consensually give it up.

To me these maps have very real value. Value that is worth money. I'm not going to bitch about whether they should have been free, when Epic and MS have already worked out a great compromise. The maps will be in the hands of penny pinchers in a few months, and everyone else who sees the value can enjoy them in the mean time.
Worthy every penny.
