WRUP: beta late than neva edition

So, the weekend is officially upon us, and at least in the Great White North, the forecast is wet and gloomy, which pretty much means sitting back in a Sumo lounge chair and gaming away. We'll probably try to get some final matches of Shadowrun in before the beta ends Monday night, rock out to Guitar Hero II, or go back to old favorites like Oblivion and Gears of War. But that's us. What of you, fellow fanboy, what are you going to be playing?

1. Sadly I will playing nothing because I had to send in my 360 to get repaired again for the 2nd time in 6 months. So I will be playing on my PSP until that gets fixed.

2. Working on getting 5 stars on the last 6 songs on medium in GH2... God I hate Psychobilly Freakout.

Also some Pinball (Streaming internet radio in the background cuz the music sucks), and some Halo 2 to keep me frosty for the beta.

3. Well, I just downloaded the new heroes/villains pack for Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, so I'll probably play through that again this weekend.

4. "Working on getting 5 stars on the last 6 songs on medium in GH2... God I hate Psychobilly Freakout. "

That one is a bit difficult. It just is really atypically set up in terms of melody and beat. I don't know if you tried this, but going and trying to do well on some Hard songs really helped me out with the last ones in Medium (same with when I was in hard, I'd try to do well on Expert songs).

5. probley some crackdown and umk3 because i always play that game gonna play some games on my ds it's gonna be a slow weekend

Posted at 5:40PM on Apr 27th 2007 by Jay900

6. Guitar Hero II, Super Paper Mario... and maybe Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.

Posted at 5:49PM on Apr 27th 2007 by Ninegauger

7. 360 sits dead, awaiting repair box.

Yeah. Probably not gonna get into the Halo 3 beta, knowing the tales of Microsoft repair times.

8. Bungie weekly update is up just to let you guys now... http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid=12392

It's got some interesting stuff, mainly it shoots down a few rumors that have been running rampant around the net as of late.

9. @2 Oh god, Psychobilly Freakout is the one song that I had sooooooo much trouble on when I played Expert. It was the only song out of the main 48 that I had left to 5 star and pissed me off so much.

10. Halo 2, finish up some crackdown acheivements, dust off Gears, maybe some jade empire ... i bought that game a while ago and haven't played it yet

11. I'll be co-oping on some Crackdown I hope and diving back into Guitar Hero 2. I finally got all those damn agility orbs and I've been jazzed about finishing up the hidden orbs too.

Posted at 6:07PM on Apr 27th 2007 by Tim

12. I'll probably play the short Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo a few times, while thinking "The Xbox 360 could totally do this."

Other than that, I've got to start working on 5-starring Hard on Guitar Hero II, and beating Expert. For some reason, I really want to finish Bullet Witch, but Guitar Hero and Halo 2 keep stealing my attention. I was going to buy an Elite until Engadget said HDMI wasn't really worth it (which I figured). I still have to play a few XBLA games now that I have a PS2 controller adapter.

I'll probably play some freeware games I downloaded to my MDA at the bar if that counts. LOL

Oh wait...I have to rip apart my entertainment center, clean it, custom wire a network switch in, cleanup the cabling and move the devices around. That'll eat some gaming time...

13. Actually, I just started a new character in Oblivion (instead of studying for my finals in a couple of days) after playing at least 100 with my old one. I still haven't joined the Thieves Guild or the Dark Brotherhood, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what those factions are like.

14. nice play on words Knuckles. i like it. ;)

Posted at 6:30PM on Apr 27th 2007 by homer34

15. Marvel, now that the content is FINALLY out, and probably some MotorStorm as well.

Posted at 6:35PM on Apr 27th 2007 by Eric

16. Like Russell, I too should also be studying for finals, but I know I'll be playing some Shadowrun, Eets, and pwnng in some late night Uno sessions.

Posted at 6:50PM on Apr 27th 2007 by AnOffday

17. DDR Universe, Boom Boom Rocket, LOTRO on my PC and Pokemon Diamond on my DS.

Posted at 7:23PM on Apr 27th 2007 by Jonah Falcon

18. Yeah, I just got my 360 back a week ago yesterday from Texas and it's red lighting it again. I looked on Xbox-scene.com forums and found out that the error code means "general hardware error." So I guess that just means "Fucked up." There was a an odd fix where if you switched from HDTV to TV and then back again it would fix it, and it did for like 3 times, now it doesn't work at all.

I love the 360 but I hate the unreliability of it!! I'm a sad panda. And if I don't get it back before H3 beta I will be a clinically depressed panda.

19. NHL 2K7, yeah that's right.
It's playoff time, and the Ducks are going all the way this year. I love you Teemu.

Then some online Vegas.

20. I wish I could play this beta :(
