Video: DIRT trailer drops jaws [update 1]
Gametrailers has the first trailer (also in HD) of Colin McRae: DIRT up and it is truly breathtaking. It starts with a lone rally car navigating turns around a cliff edge, then moves to some buggy rally, complete with well, dirt. Plumes of dust and debris trail all the tires, then we come back to another rally car negotiating some rain-slicked trails when ... well, you're just going to have to watch it yourself. The score during the trailer is really moving and we're totally psyched to get our hands on this come June. What'd you think of the trailer?
[Thanks, DjDATZ]
Update: Major Nelson also gave word that the gameplay trailer is available on Marketplace

(Page 1)2. I agree. It looks like pre-rendered footage. If it's not, however, I'd gladly eat crow while paying for this game.

3. A lot of it does seem CG, particularly the in the car views and the opening areas. Some of it definitely is doable though, just based on PGR3... and that's over a year old already. I hope they manage to get very close to this.
Either way, I'm getting it.

4. It isn't gameplay, it is just a pre-rendered trailer. However there is apparently a gameplay video up on Xbox Live Marketplace.

5. OK the first part with the hill climb and the last part with the crash locked rendered: Way too much particle effects in the first and too animated driving, especially in the turn, for the last. But after playing Motorstorm I don't see a problem with at least the middle part being ingame.

8. CodeMasters have always made great racing games- i wouldnt personally expect anything close to a letdown from these guys- To bad games like ToCA Race Driver wasnt popular over here- i loved that game..

9. My jaw is still firmly in place. Pre-rendered FTL.

10. Still looks good, although it seems somewhat plastic-y.

11. I would like to see this and Motorstorm side by side. I think this looks better than motorstorm (the newly released marketpalce video, not this CG). It looks more fun to play too. I like Motorstorm, but it gets old pretty quickly.

12. I wish dev's would stop releasing CG trailers. It may make people go "wow", but then it make the actual game look worse.

13. yea you think they figured that out by now.
pre-render trailer == you dont have enough faith in your game engine -> i dont have faith in it either == im not paying $60 for it.
you think if they just took the time to bulid a nice looking engine which can do everything that the pre-render stuff can you save render time on something which only gets peoples hopes up only to be disapointed to play the real in game.
i blame you FFIIV, thank you for your freedom hating ways.

14. The part at the beginning looks like the Pike's Peak race. Not sure what the exact name of the race is, but they race real cars up the real mountain, and it looks exactly like that, from the scenery to the "OMFG you're going to die if you don't make that turn perfectly" part.

1. For some reason, I don't think that was gameplay, but a rendered cut-scene. Boo!
