The hip and trendy kids over at G4's The Feed put together a list of what they think are the 17 lamest Xbox 360 achievements to date. Horrible games like Bomberman Act Zero and NBA Live '07 made the list as well as our favorites like Gears of War and Rainbow Six Vegas. We agree with most of their picks, but really agree with hating NBA Live's "Online With 1,000 People", GRAW's "Committed (Multiplayer)" and FFXI's ridiculous "Reach Level 75 with each character class". We guess this article made us further realize that there are truly lame achievements out there and that we have to be careful. Remember, friends don't let friends spend days on end trying to earn lame achievements. It's one epidemic that we can stop.

#1 is Final Fantasy XI's achievements, and I could not agree more. Why not something better like,
5 GP - You Reached San D'Oria
5 GP - You Reached Windurst
5 GP - You reached Bastok
10 GP - You reached Jeuno, etc.
Or at least drop the 75 to 20, then that is do-able. But, nonetheless, a lv. 75 character is what defines "achievement"

I think all games should give you the first achievement for just going through the beginning training or reaching the first "check point". Some games do this. Some games are so bad they should just give you 500 points for just buying the game and loading it up.

I stopped trying to increase my gamer score. I like unlocking achievements but I don't go out of my way to do it unless it is easy. After owning my 360 for about a year my gamer score is 2555. I wish you got more for just playing through games.

Alien Hominid 15
Lego SW II 230
Perfect Dark 90
COD 2 200
Etc...

Personally, I thought having 1 point for completing the hardest difficulty was sheer genious. How many people out there will be stuck at 999? That's where I'm at, but almost done with it to get that last point. :)

My friends and I are all BIGTIME fans of the COG Tags that can be found in Gears of War. We think that is a GREAT feature. Nobody says you NEEED to go looking for them. Those tags are just a matter of looking for them on your own and getting the Achievement points. I think that is great, and so do my friends!
Gears of War is our favorite game ever!
