2007 sees Kameo on the big screen?

Kameo was a mixed bag, even for a launch title. The game was beautiful, it played reasonably well, but there was just something missing. The characters lacked spark and the world was perhaps a little too saccharine. Still, it was a decent first effort and it was sure as hell a sight better than Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Rare's first Microsoft effort. It looks like the lukewarm reception was enough for Microsoft, as a Kameo movie appears to be in the works, according to IMDB. The director listed is Sunmin Park, who most recently had a hand in the anime feature, Sky Blue. We haven't watched the film, but Siliconera reports that it was a beautiful, though somewhat empty experience.

Wait a minute, beautiful but empty? It's almost a perfect match! The only other bit of knowledge we have is that the film is slated for 2007. Anyone think Kameo is worth the ever increasing price of a movie ticket?

1. Rare needs to stop working on unnecessary movies, and start making sure the new Banjo-Kazooie is the best game they've ever made.

2. I thought Grabbed by the Ghoulies was cool...

Anyway, I love movies of games, as long as they're not directed by Uwe Boll!

BTW, Rare won't really do much when it comes to developing the movie, so they'll still make sure Banjo Kazooie is gonna be great. I've sorta lost faith after they ruined the Perfect Dark Zero, though. Well, thats just IMO :P

3. cool, I thought kameo had such potential. the game was good but, as you said. It missed something. Here's hoping the movie (if it happens) will spark a new game. and have a lot more of kickass battle scenes.

4. Banjo kazooie was not the best game ever made by Rare...silly person it was *Killer Instinct* for the arcade

5. NOTHING is worth the price of a movie ticket, especially since theathers are always full of assholes. I would probably check it out on DVD though. Personally, I liked Kameo.

6. I really like Kameo, It is Zelda like, and cool, But WAY to short. I mean a temple could take 10 minutes

7. 1) I liked Kameo... it was the greatest 360-only launch title (I'm saying 360-only because how could anything compete with CoD2?)
2) If the movie looks like what's in that screenshot... it's going to be gorgeous.
3) I like anime.

I can't wait to see this flick! 99.999% of anime, in America, goes straight to DVD... so I don't know why you're asking rather or not it's worth the ticket price.

8. There was an announcement during November of 2005 for this movie. No surprise Xbox 360 Fanboy is once again late to the punch.

9. "No surprise Xbox 360 Fanboy is once again late to the punch."

Wait, there was punch? Nobody told us anything about punch. Was there pie? Damn it, always late to these things...

10. The screenshot is from the 'Blue Sky' Movie. I've seen it, and it was indeed gorgeous, though the storyline could have been better. Blue Sky was not an Anime (has to be made in Japan to qualify as Anime); it was produced in Korea, though it had alot of influence from Anime. Some Japanese animation is outsoucred to Korean companies, and Blue Sky looked like it was produced by one of these companies, though for the Korean market with a Korean Director behind it. This looks like it has the same Director working on it, so you can expect it to look good, it'll probably be released in Koprea first, you can can just hope that it comes to USA via one of the Anime distributers. It might get a limited Cinema release, but unless the Movie is amazing, dont expect any more than that (who knows, Mircosoft might put some money behind marketing it and getting a wider release).

11. I thought the movie was called "Wonderful Days". Did the title change when it was released on DVD?
