We haven't played the title enough to assess how serious this problem is, but if it is widespread, then it needs to be dealt with. Have any of you encountered this problem? If so, speak up.

I had this happen last night, while trying to play co-op with a friend. Couldn't get a game started, no matter who was hosting. Kept getting stuck at the 'Waiting' screen, although we could still talk and everything.
We both have NATs that're rated 'Open', for the record, and we've been able to play other games against each other.

Most connection issues have to do with the NAT on routers being to strict. Try setting a dedicated IP address to your 360 and setting that IP on the DMZ of your router. Reset your router by pulling the power cord and see if that helps.

Yes I have! A few threads on the xbox.com forums about this as well as the vugames forum. You have to wonder how the developer and/or MS managed to miss this issue...

I've been able to get exactly ONE co-op game past the "Waiting" bit, in about 20 tries. And yes, my NAT is Open.

Tried 5 times a few days ago with no luck. I guess testing is a thing of the past.

My 360 is in my DMZ, so I don't think that's the issue. I also never have problems playing other games.

A lot of people are seriously pissed about this. My friend and I bought this title last night with the specific intention of having some old-school 'Ikari Warriors' style fun but could not connect to each other (or anyone else for that matter). We had no problems playing halo 2, GoW, and NBA 2k7 on the same night. Connection tests yielded that our NAT was "open". We did some searching and noticed how widespread the problem really was. We want a refund. What a waste of $10

Talk abotu a disappointment. My friend and I were going to try this out last night. 800 MS points later I was searching everywhere online trying to find out what could possibly be wrong. I didn't know MS would still allow a game to be purchased from the arcade when I'm sure they were aware there was a huge flaw in that noone could play co-op......many customer's only reson for buying the game.
2 big thumbs down. I wouldn't even give this game away on my site because I would have some pissed off/disappointed members.

Well, don't be giving me any bullshit about network issues, because I rip down torrents like it's my job. This game is just plain broken - my friend and I have tried every possible way to get co-op working, and so far the results are this:
-hosting a private match on either end does not work
-hosting a public match and inviting the other person does not work
-hosting a public match where some random person winds up joining works
great, that does a lot for wanting to play with your buddies. I will be unleashing an irate phone call tomorrow.

Well, when it works, it works flawlessly.
My wife and I played co-op on different TVs, obviously connected to the same open NAT router. So it wasn't an external test/connection, but Live connections don't seem to check/know if both accounts are on the same LAN (especially true for the 1+ second voice chat lag during Halo 2).
For our purposes, it worked perfectly with no slow down, disconnects, or long/frozen load screens.

Here is the thread on the official forums:
http://forums.vugames.com/thread.jspa?threadID=38643&tstart=0
Looks like they are saying it could be a "microsoft server issue"
Here is hoping for a fix very soon.

Had the 'stuck at Waiting' problem myself every single time a friend and I tried to do Co-Op. We play plenty of games together all the time so the problem is most definitely with Assault Heroes itself.
