Head over to BestBuy.com and preorder Halo 3 if you're all about getting Microsoft Points for cheap. And I know you are thinking "dude, Halo 3 is not coming out for like ... a whole year. I'm not giving Best Buy my $60. Bah!" Hey, I 100% agree ... unless you're going to be buying it online anyway and have some extra cash laying around. $4.99 for 1600 Microsoft Points is a great deal, except you have to part with $60 a year early. Weigh the pros and cons then check out the offer if it tickles your fancy.

1. I wish they would do this with Lost Planet to sway me from pre-ordering at Gamestop- they're giving away a free action figure in addition to the preorder demo map.

2. I think ill wait until the Future Shop and best buy canada deals. They usualy trump these deals 10 fold. I mean GOW came with "the outfit" free. PS3 games where $30 on launch at BB, splinter cell double agent came with 1 year Xbox live and the xbox 360 is selling right now with FIVE (5) games and $50 off (with online coupon). I mean these deals are a billion times better then getting 1600 points for $7. The MINIMUM deal im expecting with halo 3 is get 2400 points completely free.

3. I think it's rediculous the lengths they go to get people to "pre buy" games that barely have a release date yet. Silly, in my opinion

4. Mmmmm, tempting, but I think my money could be better spent on R6: Vegas. Didnt they just run the same deal with Gears of War (except not a preorder of course)

6. Don't preorder from Best Buy. I did for a Gears of War deal (I needed to re-up my subscription to Xbox Live Gold and there was a deal)... Basically I got the game after the Emergence Day tournament. It shipped 3 days after it was in their stores.

7. No reason not to order from Best Buy. Just do what I did when I pre-ordered Call of Duty 3 to get a free map-pack and 1600 MS Points for $4.99 a few weeks ago. I called the day the shipment arrived in stores and had them change my order to in store pickup. They will do it, and you get the deal and can pickup the game in store on the same day as everyone else.

8. Is it possible to "return" a pre-order at Best Buy? I know at GameStop and EB you can cancel a pre-order if you want, so why couldn't you do it at BB? Unless they have a clause with their pre-orders with says that if you get a bonus/on sale item with it, you must return that extra item as well.

If there's nothing like that, just pre-order Halo 3, get your points and return it. Or for those of you lucky enough to have more than one BB in the area, you could buy it at one and return it at another.
