Id says 360 is a gem to develop on

In an interview with CVG, Id developer John Carmack talks about how easy it is to develop on the 360 for the upcoming Nazi killing shooter Castle Wolfenstein and said that "the Xbox 360 is the first console that I've ever worked with that actually has development tools that are better for games than what we've got for the PC." Whoa, those are bold claims Mr. Carmack ... bold claims indeed. Both Id and Raven are teaming up to create this next-gen shooter and both are working hard to squeeze as much power out of the 360 as possible. A true Xbox 360 fanboy has to be excited about this game, but be sure to keep your guard up, because we all know of a certain game developed by team Id/Raven that didn't live up to its potential (crappy multiplayer just angers me).

1. I hope Quake Wars makes a great transition to the 360.

3. Return To Castle Wolfenstein is in my top 5 best games EVER. I'm looking forward to the next installment on 360 SO MUCH!!!! Please remake the multiplayer map Beach Invasion. Best multiplayer map ever created! Hopefully if they recreate the the multiplayer game they made in RTCW but for 360, it will easily beat all online 360 games. Map objectives make a multiplayer map so interesting. The only thing that comes close is CoD3 but it's still severely lacking. Just look at War mode and you'll see how it's just a flag game. They could have done actual objectives for each map. Like planting dynamite on the Edar Dam level would have been good. But oh no we got more flags. :( Hardly a "War" is it? LOL. Where is RTCW Tides Of War the Xbox Game on the backwards compatibility list? It's needs to be there.

4. I couldn't agree more Joe. RTCW is still one of the best multiplayer experiences I have had on Xbox Live. I loved the class based gameplay (Medic FTW) and the objective modes aswell. On top of that, it had a great lobby system and plenty of server options which was the next best thing to Halo 2's Matchmaking.

5. Get over it. Quake 4 was never intended to be a strong multiplayer game. It was id's turnabout after doing Quake III as a game that was almost solely for multiplayer and was thus completely lacking in interest for many of us. Quake Wars is the multiplayer exercise for that engine.

6. So what ..... what ID game has been any good in the last few years.

Don't say that load of garbage Doom 3.

7. What was wrong with Doom 3? Most atmospheric game I've played in a long time. I guess we all have different tastes!

Quake 4 was a big disappointment, though.
