Blue boy walking, new Blue Dragon videos

There are two new Blue Dragon videos up on the official site. The first, set to some of the most terrible rock music imaginable, demonstrates the game's shadow combat system. Somehow, the music gives it a very weird twist. It's as if it were a joke. Seriously, it sounds like Bob Dylan after a stroke. The second video showcases one of Blue Dragon's most overlooked features: walking! If you've ever wanted to see a kid walking around looking at stuff, now's your chance. Both videos are embedded after the break.

Are you ready to rawk? I said are you ready to rawk?! I can't hear you!

If you watch closely, you can clearly see this kid checking out a woman's, ahem, dirty pillows. You can also download these videos in HD from the Blue Dragon site if you are so inclined.

1. I must have this game.

2. I love traditional JRPGs such as this one. Oblivion is great and all, but I love turn based combat. I feel it takes abit more strategy and allows me to feel more in control of all my charactors unlike the quasi-real-time combat in KotOR and FFXII.

Plus the fact that Hironobu Sakaguchi is producing this game is HUGE. This guy has been involved with some of the greatest RPGs of all time (Final Fantasy 1-10, Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, etc).

I hope this game comes to America with the Japanese voice track similar to Enchant Arms... I find the Japanese voice acting to be a hell of alot better in most RPGs.

4. i guess you just cant have a comprimise in rpgs. to me KotOR was/is way better then any turn based rpg i ever played. its not about the free movement either since i just cant stand oblivion. to me oblivion is repulsive.

anyways... looks better then lost odyssey

5. The music, I am pretty sure, is by the band Black Mages, who were started by Hironobu Sakaguchi. The two albums that they have done showcase rock versions of Final Fantasy music, mostly Battle music. The voice sounds like the singer they had for the second album. Personally I am glad that they are using the Black Mages for the music, and hope that more of their music is in the game. I kind of agree that when he starts singing, it is bad, but it should get better.

As for my desire to play this game, I have put done FFXII just to watch these trailers, this game looks great. It keeps a cartoony look while still having great graphics. Who knew? I can't wait until this game comes out.

6. Richard, were you even alive during the 70s? That generic crap is about as far from Bob Dylan as you could get. The template here is Deep Purple. Like every band that ever had some distinctive hits there are myriad imitators who only vaguely understand what was pleasing about the original but go ahead and do their version anyway.

The Deep Purple knockoff sound seems appropriate since this game has more woment wearing tube tops in day to da life than I've seen in one place since that band was actually on the charts.

7. epobirs,

As a matter of fact, no I wasn't. I was only speaking of the voice. It has that Dylan quality.
