What are you playing: Aloha edition

You may have noticed a few hints that I'm getting married soon. Well, tomorrow actually. Incidentally, that's why I wasn't in Barcelona covering X06 -- much to the dismay of many of my friends: "You should totally go, dude." But no, I'm getting married and that's more important. The point of all this is that I won't be here for a little while. I'll be enjoying the sunny skies and sandy beaches of Hawaii with my beautiful new bride (assuming we don't get rained on the whole time). As such, I won't have time for posting, because I'll be ... busy. Of course, Ken will still be here and Joystiq's own Chris Grant just might be popping in as well.

On a personal note, I really hope you have all been enjoying our new energy around here. Some of you may have guessed that this is now my full time job, and I'm taking it seriously. We're going to be growing X360F like crazy and all of you are a part of that. That means more community, more posts, more everything. We want to know what you like, what you don't like, and if you think something is bull, by all means call us on it. Stick around, it'll be worth it.

So, what will I be playing this weekend? Nothing -- looks like Dead Rising will have to wait 'til I get back (just when I thought it was over ...). How about the rest of you? Hope you all have a good time. I'll see you on October 12th.

21. I hate nostalgic gaming - after the novelty wears off, you're left with a weak game, crappy graphics and spoiled memories of something you once thought was fun - this is why Doom or Street Fighter is NOT in my lineup. Live needs to step it up and release some new stuff.

Killing time til GEARS hits with whatever is on the shelf.

23. Doom! I actually never finished Doom on PC, so this is kind of a fresh experience for me. I love the simple controls. No worrying about jumping or looking up or down. Kinda like real life.

Congrats Richard and have sex! I mean... no, that's what I meant.

25. Congratulations Richard, on both the marriage and being able to make blogging a full-time gig.

As far as games go, I'll be playing Dead Rising (just starting to get into it) and Oblivion (still have five achievements to go, all in the main story line and Dark Brotherhood.) If I'm looking for a change of pace, I'll most likely pop in Lego Star Wars II.

26. Enjoy your real life versions of TDU and GTA's hot coffee mod and leave the gaming to us.

32. Good to here your coming to the islands. Which one are you going to be on? Anyway I am stationed on Oahu. 33. I think I am probably the only 360 owner haven owned his 360 for six months and only own one game. I've become greatly disenfranchised at the one game publisher that, in the beginning, took me away from shooters on the PC and got me to start consoling.

Now, this one game publisher has scorned me and my friends that use to group together for private XBL gameplay every Saturday night. Instead of this weekly activity, this publisher single handedly managed to break the group leaving no one playing and some seriously evaluating returning to the PC gaming world.

The PC games from this publisher are cheaper, the additional download content free (XBL additional download content is not free for the 360), and the idea of loyalty completely thrown away in the Xbox Live Marketplace relationships with publishers willing to pimp their consumers than reqard them for being loyal.

Alas, I will not be playing on the 360 this Saturday night, but rather playing on the PC. Anyone looking for a Premium system (complete with one game) for about $200 plus shipping?

35. Congratulations and Aloha, as I am also spending time in Hawaii, via Test Drive Unlimited. What a great game! It will hold me over nicely until Forza2.

38. COD2, PGR3, and various demos, as always. Thinking about picking up Battlefront II again. Congrats on the marriage Richard!

39. Well, I was playing TDU. But a corrupt save put an end to that one. And I didn't want to start over (at 83% completion before the corrupt save).

So I was going to download some old school Doom, but my 360 also did the 3 red light thing, so I guess the answer to the question is: tonight I'm playing Candy Land.

40. Congrats XBOX360 #1 blogger!

I'll be playing OBLIVION STILL! I'm just now getting around to the Fighters Guild quests. I just made a new character for it, since punching horses gets you kicked out of the guild, and I didn't want to collect 20 bear pelts. Bah, I probably just sound like a crazy person.
