3. I see several sites taking Peter's speach out of context. Having read this interview, and many others... I would have to say (much against my original opinion) that Mr. Moore is making some good choices, and is doing a good job.

The only thing that made me laugh was his comment on the Oblivion download: "who'd have thought we'd be arguing about the price of digital horse armor?"
Of course we were upset, you wanted to charge us almost 5 bucks for curtains that did absolutly nothing. In fact I am pretty proud with how people on the net stood up for themselves regarding this manner.


Lastly, would it be too much to keep us in the loop a little more, Mr. Moore? A confirmed timeline for the XBL update... Size and date of the larger HDD (are you waiting for the PS3 to drop? do you need to sell all the existing 20G HDD first?)

I love this guy already! I'm really loving the 360 and what it has brought to me so far. I was going to get a PS3, but Sony is trying to forcefeed me a bunch of crap I don't want and take the entire contents of my wallet on top of that. No thanks Sony, MS and maybe Nintendo have my wallet's attention now.

8. this is the man who said xbox 180 would be the top, best selling gaming machine, he expected that it will completely ruin its competition. the worst thing is im not lying, he and his team said exactly that in an interview.

he also said that he can sell 1 billion xbox 360 units, when hes finding it hard to sell 1 in japan.

he said that not hooking up the net to your xbox 360 would be like going back to medievil times. so what happened to the people who want to buy and play games? and how on earth can he say that when he charges $50 a year, whilst ps3 and wii have free internet gaming - the way it should be.

i know ken kutaragi makes funny comments, but peter moors are just stupid and embarrasing, like when he said xbox 180 would be the best and he only lost 5 billion through it. 1 billion units, lol.

if anyone had the right to say we can sell 1 billion units, surely it has to be kutaragi? not a bad record, only 2 consoles have ever reached 100 million mark, ps1 and ps2. not bad eh, selling more than the entire 4 generations of nintendo and microsoft put together?

i guess some people do rubber ducks and some people do tatoos.

That said. He is a salesmen, his job is to hype it up and spin rhetoric. It is his job to claim that the 360 will sell 10 jillion units in Alaska alone.

11. Not much of a fanboy, are you?

If you actually watch the show where the 1 billion number was used, you will see that they said that the gaming industry - as a whole, not just Microsoft - needs to grow to 1 billion customers. That means Xbox 360s, Wiis, PCs, cell phones, handhelds, and PS3s; not just Xbox 360s. It would be so very hard to sell one billion units of a single product or product line, but if anybody has ever gotten close it would be Microsoft with their Windows platform.

As far as free online, Xbox Live Silver is free. You only have to pay for online play and matchmaking, all other services are free. Do you honestly believe that $4.10 a month is -too much- money to pay for a persistent game ID that will eventually spread out to Windows Vista and your cell phone? That's the price of two Starbucks coffees, or if you're not that old yet, 3 Snickers bars.

Do you think server farms are free? Who has to pay for the bandwidth, the servers, the space the servers occupy, the electricity, the management of the network, the development of new features, etc? We have no idea what kind of features the Sony and Nintendo online services will offer, you can't even compare them right now. Also, we don't have any pricing details from Sony beyond, "we" won't charge you - who’s to say the publishers can't or won't charge to play their games online?

I had 3 PS2s; why, you ask? They kept breaking on me. I loved SSX, DOA2, Midnight Club, TTT, etc. They're why I bought it after my first PS2 broke and again after my second PS2 broke. After the last one broke, I stopped forking over the cash for the PS2s. I honestly think that Sony made the 100 million mark because people had to keep re-buying them. Sony has horrible customer service and charged for repairs to the systems and they weren't very quick about it either.

By the way, very cleaver saying Xbox 180 instead of Xbox 360. Unfortunately for you and your intentions, Xbox 180 can have positive connotations as well. One might interpret it as, "a complete turnaround from the Xbox" and so all those who didn't like the first one should love this one.
