Hitman: Blood Money demo hits XBL

Set to ship next week, the demo for Eidos' latest Hitman title, Blood Money, has hit the Xbox Live Marketplace. Stop everything you're doing on your 360 and give it some time to download the 783Mb demo.

Can't wait until that active downloads functionality starts working fo' real. Our sources are whispering any day now.

1. Wow, this is a beast of a demo, taking forever. Hope its as good as I think its gonna be.

2. I already played the xbox demo in OXM, if it's just the same demo with a little better graphics...meh

sure wish I had that 'active download' feature now though...maybe I'd waste...spend the time to download it then. maybe.

4. "Stop everything you're doing on your 360 and give it some time to download the 783Mb demo."

Sure thing! I started downloading this an hour or two ago, haven't checked up on it, but it's probably almost nearly halfway there or something.

5. your sources? Could your sources be everybody on the entire internet? We all know its coming before the end of the month, and theres only 5 days left, so it HAS to be any day now lol.

I really need these new background downloading features. Im still waiting for them so I can download all the demos from E3 (actually theres only 3 I think), and a few from before that. I stoped downloading demos and trailers because It was so much of a hassle, and I could see the trailers online much quicker. With the new system in place tho, I actually will download all demos released.

Now is 6 slots enough? It seems like enough for everyday use, but at times like E3, I would deffenitly need more then 6 slots to queuee stuff up in.

6. Wow, Hitman is not bad at all. I thought it would be horrible.

7. This demo draws a big "eh" for me. graphics and game mechanics feel very dated to me. but the newspaper mission assesment is kinda motivating to redo it perfectly.

8. Yeah what gives with this dam xbox live service... this sucka is taking forever and a day to download and I have a super fast connection, so this is a huge surprise....

Microsoft we need more servers...!!!!

Ok finally the wait is over and the game is not much different as far as graphic's it's like how tomb raider was... so if you liked that you will like the look of this... I wasn't impressed for an xbox 360 title but whatever...

ok have deleted that demo and will now go back to waiting for Gears Of War...

9. it keeps saying download could not be completed which is annoying because i have to start again

10. #7, I agree with your assessment of the demo. Looks pretty, but seems too linear. Yes, I know it's a demo and you can't really explore. But still. Plus, either I reached the end of the demo or a bug, as I was supposed to scan my stolen keycard and open a door. It never opened...

11. did you actually go back and pick up the card or just take the chemist's clothes? I did the same thing and realized I had not picked up the card--that is not the end of the demo

12. Keep in mind this was developed for last gen consoles its not fair to judge it by these generations standards, I really wanted to own blood money but there was no way I was buying it for the xbox so I am very glad that they upped the visuals and brought it over to the 360m sure there is nothing much really next gen about it but this was made for the xbox generation not this one so I am just grateful they improved it and ported it over to make it playable.

13. meh.... the best thing about demos is that I was considering buying this game, now I've played the demo I know I don't need to waste my money

14. I could die happy if all the posers and wannabe hipsters stopped saying "meh" for 1 day.

15. I'm glad this is coming out for the 360. It runs horrible on my Athlon 64 3200+, 1 gig RAM, 6800gt 256mb, even at the lowest settings! I'm talking framerates below 10.

heading to download the 360 demo now...

16. This demo was horrible. I'll stick with Splinter Cell or for my assassination needs.

17. This demo made me feel kinda sick. I have never played a hitman game before. I thought that the ads in EGM and GameInformer were a little graphic, I mean CGI created "victims" is one thing but real photos of "murdered" people with a pun as the tagline? Even though the swing king was suppossed to be really vile I still find it pretty horrible to have to kill a guy who is begging for his life.

In GTA when you are the antihero at least the art style is so cartoonish and over the top that the gravity of how violent and heinous the things you are doing not a factor, just in good game fun. But this game is trying for realism. I mean, do I really want to be a murderer in a game, for no cause except profit?

19. #12, I'm tired of that excuse. If a developer releases a game for a next-gen console they should make the damn game next-gen. Otherwise, they can charge last-gen prices for it. I'm not paying $10 more for last-gen. So far, I'm been collecting original XBox games that are back-compat. I refuse to pay $10 more when I can get the same-gen look/feel while getting 4-5 games for the same price as one psuedo-next-gen XBox360 port.

20. The demo was fun, but REALLY glitchy. Random guards seeing you through walls, dodgy action areas (you must step on THIS PIXEL to pick up the tiem), actions not triggering (no matter what I did, there was absolutely no reaction to 'approaching the target' (I just had to give up and bean him on the head with a nearby bat).
And worst of all, the wire sucked. Almost EVERY attempt to use the wire failed. It did work once or twice, but every other time the character stretched the wire, but never entered the 'sneaking' stance, and did not use the wire when the trigger was released behind the enemy.
Hopefully the full game will have most of the bugs ironed out.
