E308: Warhammer: Battle March is dark, moody

Making its way to the Xbox 360 for the first time is the famed Warhammer series. Warhammer: Battle March, from Namco Bandai, is a real-time strategy game set in the Warhammer universe. Battle March on the Xbox 360 includes the original PC released Warhammer: Mark of Chaos, in addition to the upcoming Battle March expansion pack. Warhammer: Battle March includes a single-player campaign and skirmish modes and online support for up to 4 players and the game has ditched resources in favor of keeping it action oriented for console gamers.

USK lists Warhammer: Mark of Chaos for 360

Ah, the Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle, better known as the USK or, simply, the German version of the ESRB. We love 'em. Why? Because they constantly tip us off about games that publishers work so darned hard to keep secret. For example, the USK has now listed Namco Bandai and Black Hole Entertainment"s Warhammer: Mark of Chaos for the Xbox 360. A real time strategy title that debuted last holiday to decent reviews, Mark of Chaos would be yet another addition to the Xbox 360's burgeoning RTS library. The 360 game has another subtitle tacked onto it, making the full title actually Warhammer: Mark of Chaos -- Battle March. Whether this means we'll see a completely retooled game or an expansion to the original we're not sure. In an interesting twist, the entry on in the USK database is labeled "GC-Demo" which would lead us to believe we'll see a Mark of Chaos demo before too long. Once again, thanks USK!

Rumor: Warhammer online hammers 360

Our seafaring, scurvy ridden, piratical masters at Joystiq are reporting that Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) is heading to consoles -- the Xbox 360 to be specific. According to a recent job posting, EA Mythic is looking for a Warhammer console producer, responsible for leading "production and design on an exciting EAMythic title being developed across next generation console platforms for the online MMORPG market." Of course, it's possible that this job title refers to some other EA Mythic produced Warhammer title, but it's just as likely that the posting refers to WAR.

If true, it's nice to see the 360 get some more MMORPG lovin'. Along with Age of Conan, the 360 is developing a solid library of MMOs. Of course, the big question for 360 owners is if and how much these games will cost, especially for those who already pay for Gold Live service. If an MMO was good enough, would you be willing to pay additional fees on top of your Gold subscription?
