More DLC arrives for Two Worlds

Stop the presses! What's that, we don't have presses? Well then carry on! Ladies and gentlemen another momentous day is upon us as yet another piece of downloadable content has arrived for Two Worlds. Honestly, we're hard-pressed to tell the difference between this round of DLC and the pack that was released last month. Both contain 35 new quests and a PVP mode in which players "battle one another in an innovative player-versus-player challenge where opponents battle to control magical orbs within a variety of arenas." No, seriously, the press releases for each piece of DLC used the exact same wording to describe the new PVP mode. So, we're not sure if both packs come with the same PVP arenas or not. Still, that's a total of 70 new quests if you're so inclined. Oh, and just so you can tell them apart, the newest piece of DLC is called Curse of Souls. It will run you 600 Microsoft Points.

SouthPeak announces anime slasher X-Blades

Earlier this morning, SouthPeak Games announced that it's bringing X-Blades, a third person anime hack and slash, to the Xbox 360 later this year. And from the press release (viewable after the break) it sounds like X-Blades is some sort of anime gone wild, death and destruction fest of magical enchanted'ness. That's the best way we can describe it. Analyze the press release and analyze the "blade-swinging bombshell" Ayumi in the three screenshots below. Anyone feeling the X-Blades?

Two Worlds multiplayer expansion DLC details [update]

Update: That was quick. We just confirmed with SouthPeak that this new DLC content has nothing to do with the Temptation expansion. They are different in their own unique ways.

SouthPeak just announced two new downloadable content expansions for their mediocre RPG Two Worlds and we're sure the handful of fanboys who own the game are uber excited. The two DLC packs will be released one month apart, one hitting the XBLM in March while the other arrives in April, both for 600 Microsoft points. Each DLC pack will add new multiplayer maps, co-op missions, new weapons and player versus player challenges to the unfamiliar world of Antaloor. We're also not certain if this newly announced DLC is the content that was planned for the Two Worlds: Temptation expansion or if it's something entirely different. We'll get in touch with SouthPeak for a little clarification, but until then, feel free to browse through the new DLC screenshots in the gallery below.

Bring on the Roogoo and bring on the XBLA happy!

SouthPeak Games just revealed that they will be taking their first adventure into the murky development bogs of the Xbox Live Arcade with the announcement of Roogoo.

We'd love to kick off the Roogoo talk with us gushing about the game's art style, but we guess we should explain what exactly Roogoo is. Simply put, it's a puzzle game where players try to help settle the battle over planet "Roo" by rotating floating discs (which look a lot like those rolling shape baby toys) so that the falling shapes can land on the planet below. Simple enough. Now, since that's out of the way, allow us to gush over the game's art style. It's delicious! So friendly, so welcoming, so ... overly fun! We dare say yum'alicious times four! SouthPeak also mentioned that a Roogoo XBLA release will be happening sometime this April when they promise to bring the colorful falling shapes and the happy too.

Load Inc.'s new XBLA thing: Things on Wheels

Developer Load Inc. and publisher SouthPeak announced today that they're jumpin' back into the XBLA ring for another go with this Summer's release of Things on Wheels. An RC racer that takes your racing adventures through the house and into the toilet. Sound like Mad Tracks? Well, it sounds like Mad Tracks to us too, but Load Inc. (who, wouldn't you know, did make Mad Tracks) promises that Things on Wheels will be its own fresh racing experience. We'll see about that. One good thing Things on Wheels has going for it is its art-style which can be previewed in the single teaser screenshot above. Enjoyable, no?

[Thanks, Boff]

Monster Madness patch aims to fix flaws

Way back in April, we tried out the Monster Madness demo and walked away less than impressed. What was present in the game wasn't bad, but it definitely had issues. Particularly, the game had serious camera and control issues, which made the demo much more difficult than it had to be. It looks like the developers have taken many of the game's criticisms (we weren't the only ones who made them) and addressed them in a title update available now on Xbox Live. SouthPeak informs us that the update includes several tweaks to the gameplay but the biggest change is definitely a revamped control scheme and camera. You may recall (but probably don't) our major gripe with the demo: "the directional aiming is constant. In other words, if your character is facing left, he keeps facing left until you adjust the right stick. It works fine for ranged weapons, but it's a pain to have to manually aim a melee weapon." The new control scheme makes it so the camera and character point in the same direction as the left stick, which is definitely a step in the right direction. Find a complete list of the other changes after the break.

Those out there with the game, let us know what you think of the changes.

Two Worlds demo is up, title update coming

SouthPeak Games has informed us that a demo of the open world RPG Two Worlds is now available on Xbox Live. Just to be sure, we checked, and sure enough it's up there. Two Worlds is pretty much the closest thing we've got to Diablo on Xbox Live (apart from Phantasy Star Universe and the upcoming Too Human anyway), so if you've got a hankering for the demon slaying and loot gathering of yore, give it a spin.

SouthPeak also lets us know that a title update for the retail version of Two Worlds is on the way, and will include several fixes and updates asked for by the community. Check out the list of changes after the break.
