LEGO Indiana Jones demo now on XBLM

LEGO Indiana Jones achievements swing online
Let's get the best part out of the way right now. Every single achievement in LEGO Indiana Jones is named after a line from the films. From the well-known "Why did it have to be snakes?" to "He chose... poorly," the lines run the gamut of all the films released thus far. There are a total of fifty achievements to earn, ranging in point values from 10 to 100 points. The single 100 point achievement is awarded for reaching a 100% completion level. If the LEGO Star Wars games were any indication, reaching 100% will take a significant time investment. Oh, and we hope you like secret achievements, because there are sixteen of them. Heads up! LucasArts just launched the official LEGO Indiana Jones website and with it comes a brand new gameplay trailer as well. Whiptacular!
The official LEGO Indy website features your standard array of game screenshots, videos and community forums, but also boasts a lil' treasure hunt where you can use your newly discovered gems to "purchase" wallpapers, avatars and (our favorite) coloring sheets! The new trailer (embedded above) gives curious LEGO Indy fans a look at what's to come, including the occasional ride on a LEGO elephant and tons of whip usage. So much whip use that one has to wonder if whipping things can become an addiction. Whips Anonymous anyone?
Meet Flip-Yap, the LEGO grunt
If you've been reading Xbox 360 Fanboy for very long, you should know two things by now. One, we like us some Halo. 2, we like us some toys. Put the two together and you've got a head-exploding ball of happiness. it is with this in mind to you that we present a Halo grunt made of LEGOs. Created by legohaulic, the little guy really is the pinnacle of craftsmanship and functionality. His name, if you must know, is Flip-Yap. Hit the "read" link for many more images.
Now, if you'll excuse us, we need to wrap a firecracker in some gum* and see if we can't "stick" Flip-Yap here.

*Under no circumstances should you ever do this.

Lego Indiana Jones hilarity in action
Whipping into retail soon is Lego Indiana Jones: The Video Game, from the makers of the über-popular Lego Star Wars series. The title features gameplay pulled from the story of all three classic Indy films and if the video above is any indication, the humor and reference homages will be front and center. Set to hit retail on the Xbox 360 and pretty much every other console under the sun this Summer, the developers at Traveller's Tales look to continue their streak of solid licensed releases. Now someone get them to actually make that Lego Halo game EGM joked about, like ASAP.
Update: We knew there was a reason we quit drinking. We posted this story earlier in the week, that's what we get for going to $9 beer night.
LEGO Indiana Jones slated for Summer release
UK retailer Play.com just let slip some release date details for the not so four player co-op LEGO: Indiana Jones. Simply put, the game should release sometime around June 6th.LEGO: Indy's release date details were leaked via Play.com's recently announced Play.com Live event where, in their press release, revealed that LEGO: Indy would be playable at the event and that the game would be "on sale June 6th on all consoles". Using that nugget of knowledge, Eurogamer contacted Activision who refused to comment on the June release date, but they then confirmed with their "Top Secret Senior Games Industry Source" that the June release is indeed fact. So, even though it isn't the official word from Acti, one could expect to experience LEGO boulder running this June.
Lego Halo in the works at Bungie! [Update]

[Update] Sorry, folks, this news appears to be fake, as it appears in EGM's April Issue. Apparently we were taken in by the most elaborate EGM Aprils's Fools day joke ever. Here, this is for us.
With the massive popularity of the Lego-branded games, it was only a matter of time until something blew the doors for open anyone to get in on the bricking action. With this EGM scan, it seems that the doors have indeed been blown. With Lego Master Chief and Elites, and the ability to follow the entire story from first game to third game, it seems like this one will have fanboy's all over wetting themselves in delight. Bungie's next game was promised to be "totally different" and this certainly qualifies as different, even if the guys at Bungie are mixing things up by making at least ten-percent of the game "traditional Halo" (first person). Just like in the other Lego games, there will be a multitude of playable characters, which will probably include Arby, Sarge, etc, as well as other Spartans (if you read Ghosts of Onyx, prepare to meet Kurt's brother!). This game honestly sounds like eighty different kinds of awesome, and you know that this is going to end up selling over a million copies. The only question is, where could they take it for a sequel?
Scratch that, no four play co-op for LEGO: Indy

MTV Multiplayer just posted a mild retraction after a LEGO: Indy producer cleared up the four player miscommunication. The new official details state that the game will allow for four players to be on the screen at once, but only two players can be controlled at any given time. Not four. And really, that's a big bummer. We guess we'll just have to stick with Halo 3 if we want four player co-op shenanigans. Stupid bricks.

Lego Indy resurfaces with News, Release Date

Previously hinted at by Travelers Tales, (the developers of this and all the Lego games) and then announced last July, the Lego Indiana Jones game has shown itself again. This time with some details and the game's full name: Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures. Lego Indy will be similar to the Lego Star Wars games, in that the game story will end up spanning a total of three feature films, in this case the original eighties trilogy. The game will have three chapters (likely one per film), eighteen levels, and the traditional Indy equipment like the whip and gun. Oh, and that trademark Travelers Tales humor is supposed to be present in full force as well. With a target release date of June, this is great news for fans of the Lego games, though it does make one wonder about the status and release date of Lego Batman ....
Zanzibar looking good all LEGO'ed
In continuation of our love and admiration of anything that blends our obsession of video games with the simplicity that is LEGOs, we proudly present to you Zanzibar LEGO'fied. As you'll see in the video embedded above, a college student meticulously crafts Halo 2's Zanzibar in LEGOs along the way spending thousands of dollars and over two years of his college life. We give this Halo inspired LEGO creation an A for effort, an A- for accuracy and an A+ for shear amount of Halo geekiness that's involved. LEGO Zanzibar ... who would have thunk it.

Lego Batman coming to 360 in 2008
After witnessing the huge success of the Lego Star Wars games, Warner Bros. is going to work with Lego to make a Lego Batman game. With Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment heading the publisher duties, TT Games is returning to develop the title, which is slated for a 2008 release on new generation consoles. Did you play and enjoy either of the Lego Star Wars games, camera issues aside? Looking past some gameplay issues, we were able to have fun and enjoy The Original Trilogy for what it as. So, do you think "Lego-izing" the Batman universe could see the same success as the Star Wars franchise did? [Via GameStooge]
Lego Warthog and Spectre built brick by brick

We're adding to our ever expanding Lego creations collection by showcasing these two Halo inspired beauties. Over on his Flickr account, legohaulic posted a few pictures of his newly created Lego Warthog and Spectre models from Halo 2. Great craftsmanship and just very well done, gold star for you legohaulic. Our favorite has to be the Spectre with its curvaceous front and perfectly framed proportions. That's not to say we don't enjoy the Warthog, but we just wish he could have made it into a a limited edition Puma.
