It's an interesting yet mildly effective way to do game research, but we can't help but feel bad for poor Yahoo! Auctions and any developer who used their site to do video game research. RIP Yahoo! Auctions, RIP ...

Feeling charitable yet you still want to receive something tangible for your tax write-off'able donation? Then how about bidding on a Ken Levine autographed copy of BioShock (the Xbox 360 version, of course) which is currently on the auction block over at eBay by the folks at Game Giving. A non-profit organization who donates all auction proceeds to various charities that help children worldwide. You have nine days to bid on this piece of Ken Levine, BioShock, 2K Games history, so get to it! Heck, if BioShock doesn't float your boat (no pun intended), then we advise focusing your bidding efforts on Game Giving's Rock Band bundle. Just stay far, far away from Eragon ...
For those who have a few thousand dollars scattered around the house or lying in a shoebox behind the nightstand, you should totally check out the Halo 3 Brute Spiker prop that's up on eBay. The Spiker, as seen in the "Two Soldiers Reminisce" BELIEVE commercial, comes with a certificate of authenticity, is absolutely lovely and with a starting bid of $3,500 ... it better be. So, if you have the cash or are expecting to receive inheritance money soon, make a bid, help UNICEF and get some kind of tax write-off in the process. Never have we felt so much love for molded fiberglass, resin and styrene plastic ... yummy Spiker!

Has trying to win a Simpsons themed Xbox 360 got you down, tired and depressed? Have you given up all hope and believe owning a rare Simpsons 360 is impossible? Well, if you have the cash to back up your desires then we have good news for you.
Somehow, someone is selling a Halo 3 Legendary Edition Spartan helmet on eBay months before the game releases. Seller kira_sendo supposedly purchased the helmet from a Microsoft employee who received the helmet via his connections within' the company. And we believe the story, because the listing looks legit enough. But look at that pricetag! Currently, the bidding is up to $166 which doesn't include the game, just the plastic Spartan helmet. We've heard plenty of grumblings about the Legendary Edition's pricetag before, but this takes the whole expensive helmet argument to a new level. No thanks, we'll pass on this and wait until September.
The bid for the custom autographed Halo 3 Xbox 360 is now over. The lucky auctioneer, Bidder 27 walks away with the console for a whopping AU $24,300.00 or a cool $20,174.52 USD. That's pretty generous, and hopefully Xbox Australia's Konsoles for Kids puts the money to good use with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We're very happy that the auction was a success. That all being said, we hope the winning bidder gets the Legendary Edition, as it would be kinda silly if he didn't.
As part of Xbox Australia's Konsoles for Kids charity auctions that benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, they've put up a spiffy new Halo 3 Xbox 360 on eBay. The console, as seen to the right, features official Halo 3 artwork and is autographed by the Bungie team. The auction also comes with a copy of Crackdown, so the auction winner can be a part of the Halo 3 beta. Right now everything is sitting at a rather steep $2,120 AU ($1,756 US), but remember, all proceeds go to charity. The auction ends on May 10th, so it's time to get your bid on fellow fanboys.
Got extra cash burning a hole in your pocket and feeling the need to give? The Hollywood Arts charity is auctioning off all kinds of video game related goods including one sweet Halo 3 cameo donated by Bungie. Other auctions include a tour of Bungie Studios, a Red vs Blue package, and a signed WoW package. But it looks like you'll have to empty out your college savings fund, because the Halo 3 cameo auction starts at $1,000 and is sure to go up within' the coming week. But remember, 100% of all the auction money will be donated to the Hollywood Arts making this one of those win win situations. Also, be sure to note that the winner of the Bungie Studios tour auction gets to bring a friend with and my schedule is open for the rest of the year. You know ... just saying.
