Deals: $10 gift cards and Assassins for the cheap

This week at Circuit City, you can grab a few gift cards with your new video game purchases. Purchase either Unreal Tournament III or Beijing Olympics 2008 and get a free $10 gift card. If you're looking for new Xbox 360 Arcade hardware and are willing to purchase LEGO Indiana Jones as well, you'll be treated to a free $20 gift card. Their other deals include a free art poster with Civilization: Revolution and Assassin's Creed for the super low price of $30. Outside of Circuit City the deals are slim, but Best Buy is giving away a free eighteen month calendar with a SoulCalibur IV pre-order and Toys R Us is giving away a free $10 gift card with the purchase of a Guitar Hero: Aerosmith bundle or just the game (in store only). Now go fanboys, go and get your shop on.

Deals time: Alone in the Dark, Battlefield and more

It's Sunday and that means it's time to open up the newspaper and analyze those Sunday retail ads. Joy! And if you're in the market for Alone in the Dark this week, you're in luck, because there are numerous deals to be had. So, let's get to it ...

The only 360 deal Best Buy has going this week is a free $10 gift card with Alone in the Dark and, well ... that's it. Circuit City on the other hand is giving away a $10 J!nx gift card with Alone in the Dark, a free $10 gift card, weapon unlock code and grenade keychain with Battlefield: Bad Company, a free Hellboy II movie ticket with Hellboy: The Science of Evil, and either Bully: SE or SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 for $30. Also, if instant discounts are more your thing, Gamestop is offering Alone in the Dark for the discounted price of $50. Finally, (for our Canadian shoppers) Best Buy Canada is giving away Guitar Hero III with any Xbox 360 console purchase and either Shadowrun, Blue Dragon, Viva Pinata Party Animals or Project Sylpheed for $20. Enjoy Sunday and enjoy shopping.

Deals: Cheap MS points and get Mass Effect free

This week we're all business, because we have an overly long list of retail deals to ramble off. So, we'll forgo the fluffy intro and just get to it.

Starting with Best Buy, all this week they're giving away a copy of Call of Duty 3 with the purchase of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and a free $10 gift card with purchase of The Incredible Hulk. Best Buy also discounted a few accessories, offering the Messenger Kit for $20, Wireless Headset for $50 and Vision Camera for $30. Heading over to Circuit City, you can snag a free $10 gift card with the purchase of either NASCAR 09 or Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit, get the Rock Band bundle for $155 and BioShock or Mass Effect for $32. They're also offering Burnout Paradise for $40, Frontlines: FoW or MX vs. ATV for $48, Need for Speed Carbon for $24 and our favorite CC deal of the week, 1600 Microsoft points for $15. Next up is Target, where they're giving away a FREE copy of Mass Effect with the purchase two of the listed Xbox 360 titles including Ninja Gaiden II ($60), RSV2 ($40), Scene It? ($50), Gears of War ($40), NASCAR 09 ($60) or Assassin's Creed ($40). And finally, because we love our Canadian readers so much, we hopped on over to Best Buy Canada and discovered they're offering two free games with any Xbox 360 console purchase (selection based on one of four game bundles) and a 12 Month Xbox Live subscription card for $50. Now run along and have a spectacular time shopping.

Deal time: CoD4 GOTY for $49, gift card with Narnia

It's Sunday deal time and this week U.S. retailers are being stingy lil' buggers when it comes to Xbox 360 savings. For serious. The only semi-good deals we could scrounge up were over at Circuit City who is selling the Call of Duty 4 Game of the Year edition for $50 and giving out a free $10 gift card with purchase of Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. And that's it. Seeing that the good deals Stateside aren't as fruitful as we expected, we took our research up north and discovered that this week Best Buy Canada is offering The Darkness for $20 and both GRAW2 and RSV for teh free with an Xbox 360 Pro purchase. That's all we could find, now go be good citizens and spend your bi-weekly check on gaming related goods to help stimulate the economy. God knows it needs it.

Buy Iron Man, score a free gift card

Thanks to Iron Man cleaning up at the box office this weekend (an estimated $100 million weekend), we're sure sales of the Iron Man video game will also be rather high. And even though we can't guarantee the game will equal that of the movies' enjoyment, we can guarantee your Iron Man video game purchase will score you a free gift card.

Over at Circuit City and Best Buy, you can score a $10 gift card with the purchase of Iron Man for the Xbox 360. Not too shabby of a deal, especially if you are or know someone who is a gamer hell bent on owning everything Iron Man after experiencing Iron Man excitement at the box office. Just be careful with your purchase.

Rock Band for $149 and other deals too

For those about to jump into the Rock Band mosh pit in preparation for tomorrow's Judas Priest album release, we came across a money saving deal over at Circuit City this week. For a cool $149 (that's $20 off of retail) you can grab the entire Rock Band bundle and be one step closer to becoming a rockstar like in your dreams. Not feeling the Rock Band or already own it? How about heading to Best Buy to pickup BioShock for $39, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 for $39 or NBA Live 08 $29. Still not satisfied? Then do your own deal hunting, report back here and inform the masses about your oh so special money saving deals. It'll make you and your fellow fanboys smile from ear to ear.

A few random Sunday gaming deals

There isn't anything too special about this week as it pertains to video game deals, but we came across a handful of discounts and offers on older titles that you may enjoy. So, in the best interest of your pocketbook, let the deals begin ...

This week, Circuit City discounted TimeShift, The Simpsons Game and NBA Live 08 to a rather nice $29. Best Buy has Halo 3 for $39, College Hoops 2K8 for $29 and this week Best Buy Canada has taken $10 off of their Rock Band Special Edition bundle dropping it to $169. Finally, the big red bullseye retail chain (that's Target) is offering the Guitar Hero III bundle for $88.

Like we said, nothing here is overly special or stands out, but if you're in the market for any of these gaming gems then at least you know where to go this week for a cheaper purchase.

Rock Band bundle and 1600 MS points for $153

Our weekly deal searching mission never ends as we just came across a limited Rock Band bundle offer over at Circuit City for gamers who are looking to finally jump into the rockstar lifestyle. But you must hurry, this offer ends today.

Online, over at CircuitCity.com, they are offering the Xbox 360 Rock Band Special Edition bundle for $169 and are including a 1600 Microsoft points card for FREE. 1600 points that will help kick-start your DLC music library. All you have to do to get the free points is to add this special product bundle to your cart and it'll deduct $10 from both the Rock Band bundle and MS points which ultimately makes the points free. But wait, the deal gets sweeter! Valid only through today, you can take an additional 10% off your order! While checking out and choosing either in-store pickup or free shipping, add coupon code MCA2T22A9U to your order. The final total for your Rock Band bundle and 1600 Microsoft points should end up being $152.99 pending additional tax charges. This is a great offer for those who were impressed by the Amazon.com deal, but also want some cheap MS points and want to start rocking out today using the in-store pickup option.

Buy Viking:BFA, get $10 gift card free

We have to admit, this week retailers didn't feel the need to entice gamers into their stores, because their video game deals are lacking. Lackluster, dull and non existent to be precise. But we did come across one noteworthy deal over at Circuit City where, this week only, they have the best deal on upcoming release Viking: Battle For Asgard. From now through Saturday, Circuit City is giving out a free $10 gift card to anyone who makes a Viking purchase. It isn't a blockbuster game or a blockbuster deal, but for those of you who were already in the market for Viking then a free $10 gift card is worth mentioning.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 deals galore!

Tomorrow, Mr. Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will be available at shipping to retailers in the United States and those same retailers are trying their darnedest to lure you into their stores with special offers. So, we thought to ourselves. Self, we should highlight some of this week's best RSV2 deals. So, here we go.

Kicking off our RSV2 deal searching fun, we have Best Buy who is offering the game for the standard $59 price tag, but is including a special unlock code for an assault rifle. Yeah, we agree ... a lukewarm deal at best. But we trudge along and see that Circuit City is offering RSV2 for $59 as well, but is throwing in a pair of red fuzzy dice and a gamer's energy kit. A kit that comes complete with beef jerky, an energy drink, some energy gum and a few other goodies. A little quirky, but we approve. Next up is Target who is also selling the game for $59, but is including a $10 gift card as well. And finally, if you have a Fry's electronics store nearby, you can grab RSV2 for the loss-leader price of $39. Analyze all the RSV2 offers, make your purchase this Tuesday week and fully embrace retailer competition.

Buy Condemned 2: Bloodshot, get something free

The calm, cool Sunday air has once again brought an informative wind gust of savings, and this week the savings are focused towards Condemned 2: Bloodshot.

This week, purchasers of Bloodshot have two retail options to choose from to get a copy of the game AND get something for free. If you head to Best Buy to make your Bloodshot purchase, you'll be rewarded with a free Best Buy $10 gift card which we have to say isn't too shab. The other purchasing option is Circuit City, where they are offering Condemned: Criminal Origins for free with the purchase of Bloodshot. Yes, we said free! And if you're low on Microsoft points you can grab a 1600 point card for $10 with the purchase of any Xbox 360 game $29.99 and up. That means, buy Bloodshot at Circuit City, get Criminal Origins and 1600 Microsoft points for $10. Lovely! But be warned Circuit City shoppers. When they offered CoD3 for free with the purchase of CoD4, they only honored the offer until their already depleated stock of CoD3 was gone and anyone else pretty much got screwed. Oh, and we guess we should say these offers are probably only good IF the game ships this week.

Sunday Deals: H3, BioShock, Lost Planet and more

Hey, it's Sunday and that means its time to surf the internets, open those newspapers and look for the best gaming deals this week. But we've already done the work for you, so please, allow us to share ...

This week, Best Buy has two decent offers, one being that you can get a free $10 gift card with the purchase of Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and the other being $10 off Call of Duty 4. Heading North to our Canadian Best Buy friends, not only can you grab Kameo for $15, but they're also offering BioShock for free with the purchase of an Xbox 360. And remember, Xbox 360 prices in Canada recently dropped (Pro: $349, Elite: $449 and Arcade: $279), so that's a very juicy offer. Next up, Circuit City. They've heavily discounted Lost Planet to $20, cut the price of Conflict: DO to $40 and have taken 20% off the price of BlackSite, Kane & Lynch, Turok, Halo 3 and BioShock dropping their price to $48 each. Finally, this week at Target stores, they're selling PGR4 for $30, Scene It? for $50 and The Orange Box or NFS: ProStreet for a cool $40.

That's all the deals we could spot this week, but feel free to share with your fellow fanboys any other offers you spot while out and about this week. Happy shopping and stay safe.

Free $10 gift card with DMC4 or Turok purchase

Last week, we mentioned that if you pre-ordered either Turok or Devil May Cry 4 at Circuit City you could score a $10 gift card. Well, it looks like they've extended the offer to anyone who purchases either game this week, pre-order or not. From Tuesday through Sunday, Circuit City is offering a $10 gift card to Turok, DMC4 or DMC4 CE purchasers and (for those who like their guides) is also taking $10 off the DMC4 strategy guide's price tag. No too bad of a deal, especially if you've recently put yourself in the DMC4 or Turok market after playing the game demos.

Halo 3 for $38 and free gift card w/DMC4 pre-order

If you're currently in the market for a fresh copy of Halo 3 then you're in luck, because this week Best Buy is offering Master Chief for the cheap. Through Sunday, they're selling standard edition copies of Halo 3 for the gotta have it price of $38. We are also hearing that some Best Buy stores are super clearancing out leftover Legendary Edition copies for as low as $79, but your mileage will vary on that. This week we also spotted a solid pre-order deal over at Circuit City where you can score a free $10 gift card when you pre-order either Devil May Cry 4 or Turok. Finally, on the hardware side of things, Circuit City has taken $10 off their entire lineup of 360 wireless controllers (including pink and black) and our friends at Best Buy Canada are offering an Xbox 360 Pro bundle (which comes bundled with GRAW2 and RSV) for $399.

That's about it for crazy exciting deals this week. Remember to spend wisely and make sure there's food in the pantry before spending this week's entire paycheck on video game goods.

Holiday deals: $10 APF 2K8, $8 Monster Madness

This week we're going about things a bit differently with our Sunday ad deals. Instead of rattling off numerous games, deals and links in the main blog post (this section), we've posted them in a handy list after the break. Each offer broken down by store (Best Buy, Circuit City and Target) and in alphabetical order. Convenient, ain't it? So, since we're listing all the deals after the break we'll simply highlight the best offers right here. And this week we've got a few oldies being offered dirt cheap including Call of Juarez for $8 at CC, Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia for $8 at CC and All-Pro Football 2K8 for $10 at BB. Also, HD DVD fanboys will enjoy Best Buy's HD DVD BOGO offer that is running this week on select new'ish release movies. Each title is around $30, so it's like getting each for $15. Not too shab.

Take a look at all of this week's retail offers, browse a bit, share your own and tell us what you think about the new information layout we're trying. Happy holidays, there's only one shopping weekend left until X-mas arrives.
